      sincere_walrus's comment 28 Apr 2020

Sincere walrus this is the way hurricanes occur. Hurricanes begin as a tropical storm over the warm moist waters of the Atlantic and Pacific ocean near the equator. (Near the Philippines and the China sea, hurricane are called typhoon.) As the moisture evaporates it rise until enormous amount of heated moist air are twisted high in the atmosphere. Expose a force of friction, and it will eventually stop. A typical hurricane last anywhere from 12-24 hours but can sustain itself for long as a month,as hurricane John did in 1994.

I would like Anita Janeri to answer the following questions:

Why was your book series called "Terrible Geography"?

How inspiration brings you to write your work?

Or what inspired you to write books about severe weather?

What is your aesthetic touch for your books?

How long have you been writing books?

Which book do you like the most?

Have you loved writing since you were a child?

Is it possible to leave this profession and apply to another profession?

Will you write more books in the future about extreme weather?

And the most important question, why did you focus on the topics "natural environment and extreme weather"?

I have asked these questions because I am interested in hearing the author's point of view and how he thinks about our world. I love writing books and stories
Since I was a child, I loved being an author, writer or journalist

I ask this because I saw on the news headline that "HEATWAVES IGNITES WILDFIRE IN SERBIA". Formally, I thought heatwave and wildfire happen on its own I never knew one can result into the cause of another. Also, I would like to ask her to explain more about heatwave and wildfire. Thank you.

My question to Anita Ganeri about writing stories about extreme weather is:

''Would it have the same effect on the reader reading a BOOK as it would have reading an E-BOOK?"

I would ask this, because even though both of them are about global warming, which is helping our planet. But, books are made out of paper, which is made out of wood. Wood is made out of trees, which means deforestation would have to take place and that would cause extreme weather such as wildfires and heatwaves. Therefore, I am just asking would the content have the same meaning if it was a book than if it was an e-book.

    My question is:

"Do you think that people are less likely to listen due to lockdown?"

I ask this because climate change campaigns are not allowed to go out and protest due to social-distancing, meaning nobody will be there to change our people's minds. Therefore, I think that they are less likely to listen as the libraries are closed, meaning Anita Ganeri's books would sadly be in vain. I think it wouldn't be a good idea to start reading books online, because with all the excess electricity that is being used more fossil fuels are being burnt which would cause more natural disasters such as heatwaves. However, laptops have a battery, meaning not AS MUCH electricity will be used. Therefore, I am just asking in Anita Ganeri's perspective on whether people are less likely to listen due to lockdown.

My question to Anita Ganeri is when does the Atlantic hurricane season officially begin. But before i continue with the rest l would like her to know that most st of the questions will be on tornadoes. What is the difference between hurricanes and typhoons. What is used specifically to determine the rating of a tornado. What is the name given to a tornado over water. It is said that tornadoes are born from severe thunderstorms, is this true? Do tornadoes travel in only one direction. I hear that in the USA, storms can travel in any direction, but one direction is mostly common, may I please ask which direction that is. I ask be cause you knowledge on this l do not know and l am curious to get the answers to these questions.

My question for Anita Ganeri about writing about extreme weather is. Why did you choose this field to be a writer about it?
Because there are many topics that you can create, especially since you are creative about this subject, which is more humanistic than it talks about the weather. This is because the shock of these days we do not find much interested in. Being writing and encouraging us to strive to save the earth is an innovation in itself. # Thank you .

My question for Anita Ganeri about writing about extreme weather is Do you think that the universe is like a human being, where he becomes desperate from inclement weather and endangers him?
I want to ask you this question because you spoke about desperate desert. And I agree with you on this point because the desert is the geographical location that does not receive attention from people because they think it is empty, dry and hot, which makes it desperate. On the other hand, it contains great and precious things that many do not know except those who give it attention. As it contains an oasis that is one of the most beautiful places in the desert. This is from my point of view. Was this your destination from the title? Finally, I really want to know why you wrote about the desert that it is desperate.

My question for Anita Ganeri is:

"Do you have to change your language, to make the reader think in the way you are intending them to?"

I would ask this because, in our an issue called Politicians and Power, politicians are sometimes too honest and don't get the reaction they want. Therefore, you may or may have not had to change things in your work to get the desired reaction. For example, if you told them that there are many climate-change protesters, fighting against climate change, they might be discouraged. Therefore, you would have to change that to get a good reaction, as in the reaction you were intending for.

My question for Anita Ganeri is:

"As an author, does it have a bad effect on the reader when YOU do something that causes extreme weather?"

I would ask this question, because if it was a heatwave and you turned on the fan and/or the TV to see the news. This would burn fossil fuels which would cause a heatwave or a wildfire and possibly a drought. This would encourage the reader to carry on doing things in the wrong, which would hurt the planet, change the climate and there would still be extreme weather. Therefore, I am asking this question to see her answer from a different perspective.

I would like to ask this because some scientists are detecting a stronger link between the planet's warming and its changing weather patterns. I would like Anita Ganeri to answer one or more of the following questions:

What is your most favourite thing about being an author?

Why did you name your book series 'Horrible Geography'?

How do you come up with your titles?

Who or what inspired you to write books about extreme weather?

When did you start writing books?

Which book are you most proud of?

Did you want to write books as a child?

    Do you enjoy your occupation?

Do you plan on changing your career?

Are you going to write more books in the future?

Out of all topics to write about, why have you focused on the topics 'environment, animals, and extreme weather'?

I have asked these questions because I am interested to hear an author's perspective and thoughts on our globe. I am fascinated with the writing of books and having the opportunity to ask an author questions is captivating. Some of my future jobs I would like to consider when I am older include being an author/ journalist and a weather/ news reporter. My question for Anita Ganeri is if she has ever felt guilty. I don't mean guilty of doing something bad. I mean like feeling guilty that you can't stop climate change and nobody will listen to you. Climate change is a huge problem for everyone and everyone can see the impacts. Like drought, hurricanes or tornadoes. Sometime i know people who tell me how they want to stop climate change but give up saying its not possible. Also how do you cope only writing about bad weather. Is it because people these days like to read about bad weather or is it because it has a lot of drama?

My question for Anita Ganeri about writing about extreme weather is, where is your information from, your source? Have you ever experienced extreme weather before?

I would like to ask this question because I know that every book has a past on what it is based on. The reason why I am asking if she has experienced extreme weather is because we can find and understand where she got her source from. If she says yes she has experienced extreme weather before, then that means it is her own opinion and the book is hers which means it is providing us with information of her own opinion. She can decide weather extreme weather is bad or just natural and not bad. If she had re - searched it then it is not her own opinion, it is other peoples opinion because people like to share their ideas and thoughts on the internet but I am asking what she thinks and not anyone else. This is why I think this question is important.

My question for Anita Ganeri about writing about extreme weather is, ' Do you have a particular reason why you chose to write about extreme weather? Is it to educate us as well as entertain us?'
The reason I asked this question is because, as as many others have mentioned, the world needs to be informed about extreme weather. This also links to climate change, as heavy rain and very hot days cause it to be happening, and we don't really do anything, except protest. Also, the pollution we have created doesn't do any better, other than add on to the issues we are facing.

Anita Ganeri must have done a lot more research than me to become fully informed in order to write her books. I really enjoy the Horrible Geography books and think that the way information is presented is interesting, engaging and exciting. Did you face any barriers in your journey to becoming a successful author? If so, how did you overcome them?

I would like to ask this question because it’s interesting to hear about other’s experiences in reaching their dreams. Sometimes it’s easy to think that people achieve the things they want in life effortlessly so it’s important to hear about how they got there and the challenges they faced along the way. For young people like me who are thinking about what they want to do in the future, it’s inspiring to hear from others about how they got into their chosen career, especially when those careers are a little less traditional, such as being an author or an artist.

"Has extreme weather ever had a bad impact on you writing about extreme weather?"

I would ask this because extreme weather can have bad effects on everyone, even if they are AGAINST extreme weather. Droughts would cause drowsiness, due to the lack of water and an author like Anita Ganeri would be horribly stressed and worn out, which would have a bad impact on her writing about extreme weather. However, experiencing extreme weather would make her facts more precise as she actually experienced it. Therefore, I would like to see Anita reply to this and see what she would say.
