women in the media.

Hi Topical Talk today I will be talking about women in the media. Around the world, women are far less likely than men in the media. I have always speculated about why there are men’s football cards and not women's football cards. Other people might think that it is just because men’s football is more popular than women’s. But people like me and other people might belive that’s wrong. Most newspapers that are well will mostly be dominated by men's stories about men’s football and things like that then probably like six stories about women. Men have always dominated sports but that needs to change. I also believe that instances in the past like the Mahsa Amini insident could be related to this. I also have looked in the past on BBC sport and only something like four out of eighteen articles were for women’s sport. People might believe it's because there are more men's players that are famous. But if more people concentrated on women’s sport people would have painted a whole new picture on women’s sport!

The thing is that there are some TV shows that are fair and broadcast that are fair and all kinds of things that women have half of the time that the television program is on like the Olympic games and the paralympic games. But the sad thing is that a lot of men around the world think that men are stronger and more athletic than women which is totally not trew I have definitely seen women and girls that are way, way stronger than me! I always like watching TV shows like the Olympics and the Paralympics because everyone is equal in it. I also don’t get why men footballers get paid way more than women players. That is just sexist. I have always wanted to attend a football match but I don’t care if it’s a women’s match or a men’s match but some people would care because they want to see a men's match. Which I get in some ways because they might support the team that they are going to see.

As subjects of stories, women only appear in a bit of television, radio, and news. Like in my rugby club my team has so many more players than my sister’s team she has nowhere near as much as my team. In conclusion I think women need more opportunities in sports. Thank you for reading my standpoint.
