Why is violent crime increasing ?

FeaturedImage_Crime_1.jpg

I think it is increaseing because more pepole between England and Wales are loosing their lives and mabey their relitives are angry so they wanted revenge .however, people don’t know that revenge will just make things worst. But I know that countries are worst than us it does not mean we can not get it to to decrease.

I think it is increasing significantly higher because the society is able to get access to dangerous and harmful weapons which they could use for example if they wanted revenge if they were feeling agitated.

The most recent official statistics on police recorded crime show there were 1.3 million violent crimes in England and Wales last year. That is an increase of 21% compared with 2016, when 1.1 million violent crimes were recorded. That continues the rising trend in recorded violent crime that has been observed since 2014. In 2016, gun crime increased 11% (to 6,604 recorded offences). Also, offences involving knives or other sharp objects rose 22% (to 39,598 recorded offences) also in 2016. But these are not figures for 2018-2019.

Over the last year, there have been rises in some types of theft and higher-harm types of violence. However, only 2 out of 10 adults experienced crime in 2018. But why?

It may be for the fact that, there are 574,946 shotgun certificates which cover 1.4 million shotguns in the U.K. Therefore, some of these may be fake. Out of the 44 police forces, 38 recorded a rise in knife crime since 2011. That's way too many. Sharp objects, blades and knives have been used as weapons for thousands of years. So perhaps, too many people are having knives on them, furthermore more juristic action should be taken place for young people ( under the age of eighteen ) carrying knives or other restricted items.
