What is violent crime?
Violent crimes can happen in public spaces such as in the street, clubs and pubs, as well as at home or in the workplace, and often the victim knows the person who attacks them. The important thing to remember is that it’s not your fault – you haven’t done anything wrong, and it’s the person who has been violent that is to blame. No-one has the right to hurt you.
How can we prevent violent crime?
If you ever witness violent crime, you must immediatly run and call the police for help or else the situation may get worse. However, if you are a child who has seen this, you must run to an adult and explain to them as much as you can of what happened. Even if you have any threats about stabbing or murder, you must report this to the police so that they can deal with the situation before anything bad happens.
Just remeber to always stay alret of where you are going and how you are getting there as anyone can trick you into doing anything. Stay safe everyone.
