Crimes happen everywhere. And everywhere people are found guilty. But sadly, people can be accused of things they have been led into, or have done for a reason not obvious. These situations are about crimes, and you decisions.
Imagine you are a police officer. You have been left to decide whether these people deserve to be arrested or not. Your decision matters. What do you do?
Situation 1: A man has been involved in several crimes. Although never found guilty, he has witnessed 10 of the last 17 crimes that happened in 6 months. He was upset after his wife was murdered and became a very horrible person. A few weeks after she died, the man was found carrying a knife. It was said he had gone a bit mad. Will you arrest him?
Situation 2: A woman ran away from her home and family, taking her baby with her. The child grew up and followed her mother doing dangerous deeds. When her mother died, the now teenager was found with a gun. She came back to England but didn't know what you are and aren't allowed to do. What will you do?
Situation 3: A man was in his car on the motorway and got a phone call from his wife. The man knew he WASN'T allowed to go on his phone while driving, but saw the phone call was urgent. After speaking to his wife who said their daughter was dying, he made another illegal turn while driving and headed to the hospital. Does he deserve to go in prison?
Situation 4: A gang of teenagers were acting against the law. one person, was invited into it, but never did anything, he just hung out with them. He had a knife with him, but his friend outside the gang made him swear that he would never use it. Now the gang are caught, you have to decide who is guilty...
Situation 5: A woman was found threataning to hurt her neighbours if they didn't give her some money. Her child eventually persuaded her to go to another country, but the mum wouldn't stop. Eventually, her teenage girl tied her up and left a note saying she needed to finish of for her mother. The police found it, but couldn't ever find the girl. If YOU found her, would you arrest her?
For me, a crime is a crime. So if someone breaks the law, you must arrest them. I think a fair way to decide something would be to look at their past history. If they have done it before, they must face consequenses. What about you?
