Knife crime is a world wide problem and happens very surverly in many places, however today I am going to be looking closely and Knife crime in England and Wales. The amount of recorded offences, including a sharp instrument or knife in England in 2017 were just under 39,600. That was the highest recording over a year since comparable figures in 2011. Furthermore, having possesion of a knife, even if not in use, is becoming more commen in England and Wales. People believe this is due to recent terror attacks or murders in areas people are living in, and society feel more unsafe and vulnerable then they used to. And it's not just even a knife- carrying any kind of offensive weapon can get you time in prison or court. Byany kind of offensive weapon I mean things that are disguised as other things like a lighter or a pen.
How does a criminal record impact my life in england?
Depending on how severe your criminal record is that is how much it will affect your life. Some parts of a criminal record means you can not have certain jobs and might not be allowed to study certain degrees if your still at university. And if so severe you would not be able to visit some public places without be accompanied or not even at all. However, if you have used your weapon to hurt someone or even try and kill them you could easily have life sentenced in prison. The laws are very different in some countries however a knife is illeagal to have nearly everywhere. In some countries it would be easier to get hold of other weapons like guns and knifes. Fortunatly, guns are hard to get your hands on in England and wales
Eventhough knife crime is still happening and increasing in some rates. The UK, in most places, is an extremely safe place to live so there is nothing t0 worry about if you know your in a good position.
