The Big Four: Who’s the Greatest?

It is quite obvious that the 4 countries my post is based on, are the leading countries in the Space Race. Below I have shared statistics for each of the four countries and how they are doing in the Space Race.

Russia

Now it is clear to see that Russia is a real powerhouse in the Space Race. Though they may have been unlucky in the Cold War losing to the US to land on the Moon, they have proved to show they have a great reputation in the Space industry. Despite having such a strong Space Agency, Russia has surprisingly never successfully landed a human on the Moon! This is a major disadvantage for Russia but they still deserve credit for launching a Humanoid robot into space in August. As of 2015, Russia have a total budget of £2,265,597,318.85 which is a huge boost for them.

United States of America

Well it would not be hard to explain America‘s spot in the Space Race. Being the first country to set foot on the Moon it must be up on the list of the Big Four. Being the Founder/Owner of NASA (National Aeronautics Space Agency) America has a really big step in front of its contenders. With a budget nearly 8 times more than Russia (£16,663,294,143.35) the money side of things for America is a large advantage. They have had 6 missions where they have successfully landed 13 men onto the Moon from Apollo 11 to Apollo 17. They have a bright future to come and could make discoveries which will alter our views on Space

India

To be honest, it is quite a surprise to see India up on this list of the Big Four. Being half Indian, I would not have thought India to be such a country. Having such a strong military and large population, India has not splashed the cash on their Space agency but have decided to use that money wisely on other factors such as: Politics, Hospitals and Schools. Despite this they are still in the top 4 of the Space Race. Having launched their first mission to send a spaceship into Space in 1980 they have quite a lot of time to adapt. They have £1,239,589,280.00 as of 2019 which is a slight put down for their Space industry. They have only begun to start proper dork on Space so as time goes by, I think they will have a great improvement.

China

Last but not least, we have the country with the largest population and that is ... China! With a powerful leader (Xi Jinping), and such a strong military personnel we cannot forget about the mighty China. They have sent out spaceships and probes to roam the surface of the Moon they have a chance to make New discoveries and change their place in the Space Race. Though having such a wonderful Space Agency, they are being distracted with the protests and crisis of Hong Kong which is wasting their time.

Conclusion

Overall, my opinion is that currently the USA are the most powerful but I believe that in years to come that India and China will become the real deal.

Lots of information on each of the four here, cheerful_photograph, and this is a new interesting question. Where did you find it all?

Thanks for this cheerful_photograph, I was also thinking of making a post about the four regions.
I think America is on the 'Big four' because on the card me and some others were on (which is surprisingly the US) said that their first rocket launch was 1958, before all the others, also NASA is a big advantage as in my opinion, they are one of the most successful space agency's. I do not think the greatest country matters, just like I don't think showing off your countries success in Space matters, I just think Space is useful in many ways.

I think Space is useful because Donald J. Trump was thinking of creating a Space force, which is putting other countries at disadvantage in war as through satellite, they could watch other countries actions. Russia, China and India are getting better and have done well but overall I think the US is at the centre of Space exploration as they have a high rate of success in Space missions.

I think that all the countries will succeed in different missions however the United States would have an enormous advantage as their budget is worlds away from all the other countries. The United States have had more rocket launches as the other countries probably the main reason for this is that they have been aiming for this goal for much longer than all of their competitors. In conclusion I think that the United States have made the most progress so far however China, Russia and India are hot on their heels ! Even though they are financially poorer than USA I think it will restrict them but they can still catch up.
