Should there be holidays in space

Space Featured Image 4

The environment of space is leathal without appropriate protection the greatest threat of space is the lack of oxygen .14 astronauts have died In space and if we have holidays in space then this number will increase massively.

Firstly ,Long term health problems can be caused by spending to much time in space such as , loss of bone , increased risk of injury and slowing down their cardiovascular system . The cardiovascular system is some thing in your body that permits blood to circulate and transport nutrients ,oxogen , carbon dioxide and hormones from cell to cell .

My next point is , if our countries spend all our money on space travel it will drop in wealth and we will not be able to get certain items or food . As we have to pay for trading with other countries , if we spend all our money on space exploration we won't be able to access certain items or food .

Finally , it is exlremly bad for the environment. The main focus of most people at this point is about Climate change but most space companies are continuing to explore space. Every second a space ship uses 11,000 pounds of fule and earth has sent a lot of space ships in to space. I can't give an exact number but i know it's a lot !

In conclusion to this I think space holidays should not be allowed as it is to much of a risk for human kind .

We shouldn’t go on holidays in space because we would have to wear special clothes

I think you are right because if we had space holidays, it would be fun, but as you said, it is a risk of human life.

I would NOT suggest a space holiday because doing this could risk a lot of things including the risk of your life and if a lot of people did this the human race could be a minimum of 100 million people and a max of 400 million and it would not be healthy so even if you came out alive you would not realise all the changes that have been done to your body, your DNA would change and genes would change, this could also result in memory loss and you may not remember your family. This is why it is a very bad idea to have space holidays.

I think it is a bad idea because they are wasting money instead of giving it to the poor. IT IS A BAD IDEA!

Holidays in space would be unfair because they are so expensive only billionaires could afford it. Also you don't know if you might get space sick as you won't of had loads of training.

I think that you should not go on holiday in space because your special clothes may break causing you to become ill.

There shouldn’t be holidays in space because.

Firstly, every rocket launch costs a massive £500,000,000 and if we sent more people and sent up more rockets the more money is wasted on less important things like space holidays and we could spend it on charities, giving people tolerable lives and tackling climate change.
All these things are more important than space holidays.

Secondly, rockets aren’t the safest things in the world. India’s most recent rocket lost contact with Earth and have not been heard from since. Some rockets/spacecrafts don’t even make it off the ground without failure. Other untrained astronauts might increase the chance of failure and we don’t want people stranded in space forever.

Finally, when you go into space your genes and blood changes and your health. This was found out when NASA texted 2 twins, 1 went to space and after a few months in orbit they tested his genes and blood and discovered that they were different, compared to his twin. We don’t want other people having these health problems.

    Hi patient_mouse,
I totally agree only billionaires could afford that and it is quite pointless giving how bad it is for the environment and so I personally think for a critique would be to add some definitions for some of your more trickier words.
I think that could really help.
With that all been said I strongly agree and your points are very powerful
    Kind regards

I think it is a bad idea because people are wasting giant amounts of money just to go to space . Instead they should be helping others that could be poor or need our help! Also , space is very dangerous so people are at the risk of death there . On the contrary , we might want to go to space because it is very exciting but as I said before , it's still very risky !

I also agree about this. I think that more people having to go to space just for a holiday would not only waste a lot of money that could be used for more important things such as taking care of the environment and the people in it but also it could give people health problems which would probably be because your body is more used to being on Earth and space is a completely different atmosphere and not a place that is gone to often. In my opinion, having a space holiday isn't a good idea at all and shouldn't be done just for fun but for things that actually matter.

no because people would die of suffication and we would be able to make rockets everyday for familes. but we could go somewhere in earth where you can see space and the beautiful galaxy. :)

First of all, how and where would we stay our oxygen tanks wouldn't last that long so how would we manage to survive unless we were to stay in a spaceship or stay in a possible space structure. Physical affects and side affects could be more major due to the longer time spent in space. Such as motion sickness and your spine streching excessively.

All of this is correct and we don't want trees to end their lives because they give us oxygen

I think that we should not send people on holiday to space because there are so many other holiday destinations that you can go to so why do we need to start holidays on space. It would be dangerous but I also know that going on a plane or boat could be dangerous.

Holidays in space would create problems like us destroying our 0 zone and enilating our planet with pollution we have plenty of destinations on Earth and there's even more coming we have only explored 5% of our oceans so we can't go into space for holidays if we haven't even explored all of our planet. Also as you said patient_mouse the number of people who have died in orbit will grow dramatically because we would have to invest in many diffract rockets as we would do trial & error so people would end up dieing and then eventually people would stop dieing and we would find a way that we can send people up with a definite safety. But if/when we have explored all the world maybe we can invest in space holidays as we need to make sure that we aren't just giving money away &I never getting it back we need to make sure that it will be succeful before we launch innocent people into the amosfire and they end up going to there enviable death. The only reason why we should go to space is either reaserchon other planets not just ours, or because we have messed up the Earth so much that we need to move away from Earth to keep the future generations of life safe & alive. Space is to large and to empty and we don't know enough about it to travel through space.

I like your use of if/when here, excellent_brain, this is called hypothetical reasoning and lets us imagine what might happen if something was true.
