Should people be able to go on holiday to space?

Should people be able to go on holiday to space? Do you think this can happen and Is it possible? If you are very interested in space and want to find out more to be a space expert you should keep on reading and you will know more than a space expert.
Would you find a holiday to space fun? Well I am sure that we all would but although it would be fun,It could also be life threatening.I believe that there is many more fun holidays you can go on so really it would be easier to go on a holiday somewhere else becausse it would be just as fun.
On the other hand going on holiday to space would be a massive oppurtunity and you should always try new things other wise we would never know what is possible. Also I believe that anything is possible the parents choice on if they can go on holiday to space or not.

There's already a post about this on the Hub. Please make sure you don't repeat a post, but read them first and then add your own ideas in the comments section. Thanks!

it definitely would be fun

yes because it's not like there is a big environment and there is no animals.

I strongly disagree with you industrious cranberry because it would severely wound the environment. 2.4 million pounds of carbon dioxide are being released into the air every second and 15,000,000,000 trees are being cut down every year. This is catastrophic for the environment but so is launching rockets. Virgin Galactic is selling space tickets for 250, 000, wealthy people could spend that money on a better cause, in short they are paying to hurt the environment. There are people dying out there because of starvation and the people paying for these tickets are paying a huge sum of money for sheer pleasure. The life of Earth and us should be our number one priority not space tourism, are we really going to sacrifice our lives for sheer joy? The risk is immense, things could take a turn for the worst and lives could be lost. This will, if it happens, consume a gargantuan amount of money, money that could be better spent. This is a serious situation.

No you can't because you can't breathe there there's sometimes no oxygen

I believe that it is not a good idea to go to space on holiday as it costs a lot of money. If you think, the amount of fuel and space you will need in the rockets to safely tour people around will cost millions. On top of that, you will need high class astronauts to be able to know what to do in the worst case scenario with all of those people. The money can be used on many things down on earth like developing medicines and saving the environment, so we shouldn't be worrying about touring in space. Plus, the tickets cost a huge amount of money so not many people would want to spend it on a space holiday so that means that not many people would go. As not many people would go they will be spending a huge amount of money on multiple rockets but then only a few people would actually turn up.
Good reasons for your opinion, miraculous_knowledge.

People shouldn’t go on holiday in space.
Firstly, it is dangerous having people who aren’t trained astronauts inside a spacecraft. In 1986 a teacher went inside a spacecraft called The Challenger that was going into orbit for the first time but tragically it exploded at lift off and all 7 crew members died including the teacher. Even the most trained astronauts can have difficulties like India’s most recent space craft that lost contact with Earth as they were about to land on the moon. We don’t want any of that to happen again.
Secondly, it is a waste of money sending people to space for a holiday. Every time a rocket launch takes place £500,000,000 is lost. Imagine how many starving, ill people that could save so they have a more tolerable life? They deserve the same as us and we still throw money at going to space for only a holiday or tourism and going to different planets. How would you feel to be a poorer family and see this.
Finally, when people go to space their health genes and blood changes. This was found out when a pair of twins were tested by NASA. 1 twin went to space and the other one staid on Earth. After his mission his blood and genes were tested compared to his twin and unfortunately there were changes. They did where off overtime but we don’t want people having to go through this.
I like how you have brought in evidence from the Challenger shuttle. Is that still relevant as it's from 1986? Which of your reasons do you think is the strongest argument against space tourism?
In my opinion my second argument is the strongest because people take life as a good thing and it’s easy but those people deserve something so they can have a tolerable life like us.

Really great post I really liked it

I think people should be allowed on holiday in space but for now we Should find out more information about space to check if it is safe

Well done!

In my opinion you shouldn't go to space for holiday because space is not a place to go for holiday because space is there to help us.Secondly,to go to space it costs a lot and you are going to waste it because you go to space to research and make your country proud and not for going on holiday.I know you can stay for lots of time but when you hear that word "holiday" think of something fun aswell as safe were as space is not that safe for a vacation and you probably won't have that fun in space.
Can something be a holiday and help us at the same time? Do all holidays need to be fun?
Well holidays are meant to be relaxing and all the holidays I have been to are fun.

I believe that holidays would be very dangerous and you would not have fun as you spend your whole time worrying about if you spent your money correctly and if you are safe

Right there are all ready people going to space and someone else had made this post all ready

With this post I am on both sides.
We should go on holiday into space:
Because I think it would be a great experience for humans to look at these planets we have been hearing about. Secondly, because this is a type of thing NASA have tried really hard to get it working and if we turn it down then that might be the end of space exploration and then how are we going to survive in the future if the universe ends? Thirdly, if the universe ends then we would have to live in space so if you did take this opportunity then you would be used to gravity so you could teach other people that haven't been to space before.
We shouldn't go on holiday to space:
Because there is a high risk of you dying in space if you aren't a full-trained astronaut or not even an astronaut. Secondly, there are many dangers in space like black holes, comets, shooting stars etc that we could encounter in space and then you would lose your life trying to have a good time in space. Thirdly, it takes so long to get a rocket into space because according to research the first flight into space is already 12 years delayed so you could be waiting for ages and then when you do go into space you forget about the flight and then there is 5 billion dollars down the drain and there is a high chance you'll miss your expensive holiday.
Out of all that, I think that I am still in the middle of this question.
Good reasoning! It's fine to be in the middle, but which argument do you think most people would agree with the most and why?
19 Dec 2019
I think I had to say that we didn’t have holidays into space because it is only just looking out the side of a rocket to see cool things and that is making a large impact on climate change.

I think most people would agree on should having holidays into space because most people would want a new experience of a holiday and this is a new way to have a holiday. P. S thank you for the star.
