Do we need the International Space Station?

Firstly, I believe that in we do and don't need the international space station, because I think it is great how we can do experiments in space, however it is costing an absolute fortune to keep running.
I think we do need it, because it is spectacular that we have the opportunity to even go up to space, but even better we can do experiments there. I believe this, because it is our duty to find out as much as we can about what can happen in space, also to look at other planets and figure out lots of facts about them. We can even find out facts about to maybe get be able to get humans to live ton Mars, but as you can tell that isn't happening any time soon. If we do carry on developing our facts and keep running the international space station, we would be able to achieve so much more and maybe complete our mission to Mars by aprox 2030 and maybe live on it.
I think we do not need the international space station, because it just costs way too much money, it can effect so much on our planet. We should spend this money on climate change and raising money for the NHS, because it cost $140,000,000,000 this amount could of helped everything. I think that we could resolve this problem of losing money, by trying new things that can be in orbit, like it is a great start using inflatables.
Therefore, I think that we don't and do need a thing that costs this much money, but can do great things.

Well done for giving reasons on both sides of the argument!
It is not our duty to find out more and more about space. We have already damaged Earth and should not destroy other planets. We can find out more about space, but it is not crucially necessary. We have much more pressing matters to solve on Earth.

The space station is good because we can learn what is going on in space and can do experiments (as you said). however we shouldn't make a lot of space stations because they are really expensive and we can use that money on something else which is more important.

On one hand, many medical and scientific breakthroughs have been made on the ISS and researched from the ISS like water purification systems which allows us to drink clean water, major enhancements in cancer research and, in addition to this, astronauts aboard it monitor the weather.
On the other hand, it cost 140 billion dollars, this money could be spent on cancer research and reducing poverty.
I heard on BBC news last night that the ice sheet in Greenland is melting 7 times faster than it was 25 years ago. I think this fact supports this argument because we could use those resources and billions of dollars to help the planet and clean the seas of plastic.
However, then again, without the ISS satellites would not be advanced as they are now due to the amount of research that has been done on it and we would not be as aware of climate change as much without them.

I don’t think we need we need the space station because it is a lot of fun because people like to do a lot of experiments in space but it cost a lot of money but I agree with what you have said

I think we do need it and we don't need it,we do need it because it is a safe place to monitor space and study space material. We don't need it because we need to focus on earth not so much on space because we need to have water and medicine

This should not be our main focus in life right now as it is simply to expensive to keep running as you mentioned and we have earth to save as it is not too late so we should be focasing on saving earth and the spiecies that live on it so we shouldn't focasing on international space stations we should try and save the earth before we ruin another.

I think that we don't need the International Space Station as it is costing us a lot of money and we don't really need it. Due to all of the debris (rubbish) it will be destroyed soon. A piece of debris travels sat an unbelievable rate and when one little piece of debris hit the International Space Station it chipped a bit of a window and that piece was only about 1 inch! As of these reasons I think that we should not have the International Space Station.
