What would happen if robots could protest?

Featured Image: Protest 1

People have been asking what if robots could take over jobs. We even talked about it in our last BNC topic. So I thought....

What if robots could protest?

Most of you might think this is a crazy idea but people are starting to talk about robots more.

At this point many questions struck in my head like what would robots protest for? , Will they do it peacefully or with violence? Where will they do it? What kind of protest will they do? Who would they protest to? And finally...would their protest work?

Using my knowledge on what I know about robots, I will try and guess what they would do.

What would robots protest for?

Would robots protest for something silly like..''There should be no pineapples on pizzaa.'' or would they protest for something more serious like ''BLM'' or ''Climate Change'' or would they protest for something totally different to what we would protest for? Would they protest for something like this ''You should trust me and have faith in me! I don't need to be controlled by humans! Just trust me.'' In my opinion I think the robots would protest for my last example because I think robots would like more power than they already have.

Would robots protest peacefully or with violence?

To be honest, I think its between. If robots don't get what they want, what do you think they would do? Would they use their features against us or would they just keep protesting until they get what they want? I think that I haven't seen enough of robots to decide. Would they keep trying or start raging and use their features on us? Or would they do both? Or will some do it with violence while others do it peacefully? What do you think?

Another question to think about: If robots could decided what they would like to do by themselves, do you think we would be safe?

Where would robots protest?

Hmm.. where would robots protest? Would they protest underwater, on land or even in space? I don't think they would protest in space or underwater because if they are protesting to humans like the government, the government will not see it if they are in space or in the water because those are places where we can not survive without equipment. So I think that robots would have to protest on land but where on land? Where do you think?

What type of protest will robots most likely do?

I'm going to go throught the kind of protest Olivia and Tom talked about.

Riot

March

Virtual activism

Strike

Silent Protest

Boycott

Civil disobedience

I think that if robots do marches, they would hold up signs that say ''Trust us'' or something like that. As I said before I don't know if robots are violent or peaceful so I said I think it's between so I think they might do civil disobedience but because robots don't have laws, I think it would be something similiar to that. I also think that phones , laptops, Ipads and devices like that, count as machines so I think they would be able to protest by Virtual Activism maybe by a robot using a phone to do that or a phone doing it by itself. As I said before people are thinking that robots should take over some jobs that humans are supposed to do so if that did happen, robots might do a strike to change something in their workplace. For silent protest, imagine seeing a robot taking a knee for the support for BLM to show their support for something without using the other types of protests.

Who would robots protest to?

Its obvious that robots will most likely never protest to animals. Just imagine robots doing a riot to a lion. Who do you think would be more powerful? If robots were more powerful than lions, would that make robots, king of the jungle? In my opinion, I think robots would most likely protest to human beings because at the moment human beings have more power than them.

W ould robot protest work?

I actually have no idea because we haven't tryed it before but when I re-read ''Would robot protest work'' My thoughts suddenly changed. I thought was that instead of humans protesting humans make robots to protest FOR them so that they can still get their voice heard but they can still do other things. Maybe by doing so, it can save protester's lives by putting robots to protest for them.

Overall, what do you think about this? What are your answers to these question? You can comment your opinions down below!

Challenge: If robots could decided what they would like to do by themselves, do you think we would be safe?

Thanks for reading!

What an interesting question and completely throws us into a new area of hypothetical thinking! It might all depend on whether robots ever develop the ability to think for themselves and form a sense of their own rights (and realise if they are getting a raw deal! ). What do others think?

This Post is very funny and interesting to me but I have one things
Why would robots want to protest if they’re made from technology
As as humans we have a mindset and how no one knows we were made the way we are but robots Are made from all types of technology such as metal electronics and allsorts of things it’s robots are programmed to do certain things why would I want to protest because robots don’t have the type of mindset that we humans have they have their own mindset and their mindset is to do things that us humans tell them to do but if we humans told the robots to do something why would They want to protest what would they protest about?
    That’s my question to you
    Really good post!
    Bye

If you read my post carefully, I gave an idea of why robots would protest and what they would protest for.

Also, you could programme the robot to protest so that means it doesn't give a question to why its actually doing that.

This has some great thinking, and I love how you link into our previous topic, as we already understand a lot mire about that from previous posts and sessions :) I think robots would protest that they should be set free, live there own lives, not have to work for us humans. I also think they would have a peaceful protest, like a march of stop working perhaps. If they had a march they'd definitely hold signs like you said, I can just picture it!

I don't think it would be safe because what is the robots malfunction or something, also you can't really punish robots because the robots wont feel it and robots might be really destructive.
But the positive part is the person who made the robot will program the robot to riot so the
person will not have to riot him self.

Probably robots would to Virtual Activism since they have access to the internet and yeah. They wouldn't do riot because someone could just flip a switch and it would turn off. Since days of Marches are usually good weather, robots could do that. Maybe somebody could even make a robot with a ton of arms so they could hold loads of protest signs up so the protest will be noticed more! I would make one of those, but I don't have the materials so everybody would know and have a clue about a problem or a protest which is highly important, and a robot doesn't have feelings, so if people don't listen to the protest, then it won't feel bad and stop protesting since we need protests.
If anyone disagrees, then please reply to my comment.

Do you think a march of robots would have the same impact as a march of people?

I think maybe they might protest because they could be programmed into doing it and the person who programmed them probably made them protest

I think robots would last longer in the protest, because the things police officers throw to the protesters may not effect the robots
