Should protests go on?π€·πΌββοΈπ€·πΏββοΈ

Now I understand that many people believe that protesting about climate change and bad things that are happening is good and makes their voices heard, but in my opinion, protesting should be stopped, and here's why.
First of all, many people who protest can't complain if they're not making a change themselves. Going out and protesting might change people's opinions, but why can't they do something themselves like Gretta Thumberg or make homemade items rather than buying plastic. There are little things that they can do at home that don't cause riots in the street and they can feel better knowing that they were part of saving climate change, not that they stood on the streets shouting and causing trouble.
Secondly, protesting might change people's opinions but you have to tell the truth. Like in the black lives matter protest,, yes what happened was wrong and George Floyd deserved a trial, but people hid from the fact that George Floyd wasn't as heroic as they made out and that he actually had a criminal record for his whole life, right up until that last moment. Although other things that have happened are to do with black lives matter, I believe that this is not because George Floyd had probably threatened that police officer, and the officer was getting rid of the criminal, like they would in this country if someone had killed someone or robbed a bank, they would be shot by an officer if they were running away and put in prison if it wasn't as serious but they had still done wrong. So in conclusion to this paragraph, I believe that not all facts have been shared and that it wasn't because of the colour of his skin.
Lastly, so far, protests haven't really worked and they only cause trouble. Maybe if people were to just do these things online and get the governments attention that way, then I may change my mind about protesting. But until then, if the moment ever comes, my opinion will stay the same.

I think raising the point that all facts need to be shared is worthwhile, straightforward_trumpet, and so we should not use words like "probably threatened the officer" as we need to be crystal clear on what happened. This helps us understand the story of George Floyd's arrest and death: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-52861726
Yes, I agree. I should have been more clear. But he wouldn't have been killed for no reason and there must be a reason there.

This question should definitely be considered! I agree that some protests can get out of hand, even get people hurt, and obviously we don't want that. We could just have the more peaceful types of protest, but it's the more out of hand ones which attract more attention, as they're harder to ignore, and would be more likely to be reported in the news.
Yes, I agree. Maybe they should create an app full of ways that you can help the planet and be aware of protests so that you can do what you want at home to help that cause.
That's a great idea straightforward_trumpet! :)

Protests can go on but it depends what protest it is or what its about because they can get violent

I sort of agree because some protests like black lives matter I would let them happen. Black lives matter is serious because its a way to get your voice heard if you protest about it it might change peoples minds. Also some protest should not go on because people might join in and turn it into a violent protest.
