I'm independent_leopard, hi!
For the topic, I chose to write a post about people protesting about COVID-19. I found that some people in the UK and some other countries are actually protesting outside of hospitals (without masks or the government-approved safety equipment) because they do not believe that COVID-19 is a real virus and that it is a government-created hoax to fool the public.
I do not agree with this because, although usually I think that protests are okay (as long as they are peaceful and not harming anybody) however, I do not think that protesting outside of hospitals is at all appropriate. There are real patients in there who have COVID-19 and could potentially be dying from it. Aside from that, there are people who have illnesses who are trying to rest and many NHS workers who give their service to protect us, and people are shouting and being loud outside of their workplace.
I think that people who have suffered from this virus and families who've been affected could be hurt or angry that people don't believe in it. Another point that I would like to bring up is: why would governments crash their economies during lockdown? All that does is take the country's money!
I think that this should stop, because although, as I have mentioned previously, I usually agree with protests, this one is not appropriate, especially outside of a hospitals. Take up with the Houses of Parliament, not a hospital if you deem it that necessary.
Thank you so much for reading my post, I hope you can see some of my points!
