Should Politicians get punished for their bad action?

Politicians and Power - Featured Image 3

Reasons for:

On one hand, they should go to they should as they are still human, and have the right punishment for their actions. Eventhough they are members of Pariliment, they should get punished or voted out ( as they need to make a good example for futre or wannbe politicians ). Like Hazel Blaze, once she had spent all the money on furnetre and food, she got voted out. If they do something bad or worse than Blaze, I think there seat in parliment should get risked.

Reasons against:

Looking from another perspective, they have been put in parliment for a reason, so people - and fellow politicians - know they are worthy to be put in the seat they are in. Also, memebers of the public could could influnce what they were going to do - and make an impact of their choices - as they may like them or not. If the polition is unliked in the area they are in, they could irriate them and the polition would fight back. This half means it was a natural defence.

I really think it depends on what they've done, and why they've done it. Say someone said a rude word about them, and they said it back, both sides should be punished equally. If something was done just to attract attention, they should be punished to the extent necessary, depending on what they've done. Also politicians set an example. If they are not punished, people think it's ok to behave badly and they won't get punished.

On the one hand, some people might believe that they should get punished because we live in a democracy so everyone should(and are) be treated fairly. For example, Boris Johnson closed parliament for five weeks from 9 September in what appears to be to delay brexit. If one of us did something like that, we would probably get into a lot of trouble.
On the other hand, people might think that they should not be punished the same way we would because they are in parliament and they do so much good things for the country. These people might think that that they are such good and important people that they just don't deserve to be punished the same way that we do.
In conclusion, including all of the information with an open mind, I believe that they shouldn't be treated differently and get the same consequences that we do. I believe this because a really bad person could become Prime Minister and get away with terrible things. Adding on to that, we are all human beings and we have no rights to treat people better or worse than anyone else .

I think politicians should get punished for their actions. I think this way as politicians are humans too and they can make mistakes. Therefore, this includes them in for being punished if they break the law or commit a crime as we get punished if we break a rule, so who are they to not be arrested? Also, if they do not get punished it could spiral out of control like the 2009 scandal where MPs were using the government's money on useless things that do not support their work. This could have gone to an unstoppable extent if the government did not punish them.

    Brain-Stand!

On second thought, I think that politicians shouldn't get punished for their bad actions as they do have to take care of a country. In other words, if a mother commits a crime and gets put in jail, there would be no mother to nurse the child. Even though if you put the child in foster care, it would negatively affect the child. It is similar to a country, if the leader gets punished for their bad actions and get sent to jail, it will affect the country as they have nobody to look up to. For example, Donald Trump's impeachment may lead to America having no president which ill effect which will affect what they do as they have no Role Models. Though, it can vary as to if Donald TRum p is a Role Model, how can he challenge bad behaviour when he has bad behaviour?

In conclusion, politicians should and shouldn't get punished for their actions.

i agree with loyal editor entirely because politicians are still humans and as loyal editor said it mostly depends WHY they may have done it and if it was a proper serious situation then they shall definitely get punished for example ,Nigel farage for calling the police plebs

Yes, I think that he should have been arrested, although having an egg thrown at you is not nice,he needed to carry on and be responcible.

This is a really good question, and it really got me thinking.
Politicians have been elected to have that priority and if they make a mistake that could impact the whole country. They should be punished for this as that has changed the way the country works and it isnโ€™t just affecting them.
However, politicians are human, like us. Everyone makes mistakes. It isnโ€™t their fault that they made that mistake as mistakes are always accidental. This means they should not have to be punished for their actions.
My opinion is that they should be punished for their actions. They have made the mistake and it could affect the whole country in a very negative way. This makes it horrible for everyone in the nation.

I think that if the politicians do some thing wrong they should get punished. But if they have done a mistake but its not really acceptable i think they should keep there job also because they are humans like us and not even the Queen is perfect so even the politicians are not perfect so they can make mistakes but if it was a REALLY unacceptable for example Trump killing Iran is DEFINITELY not some thing for a president to do. but if they do some thing serious they should either get badly punished or lose there role of president๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

I think ๐Ÿค”that politicians should get punished for their actions because they are still human so they should get punished. For example John Prescott. Somebody ( a civilian ) threw and egg๐Ÿฅšat him and he threw a punch to his face ๐Ÿ‘ฑโ€โ™‚๏ธ Maybe if the mistake wasn't to bad they wont get to bad of a punishment but if its very bad then they should be punished like any human being
