Problematic politicians

Politicians are the leaders of the world. They represent us by allowing our voice to be spoken through them. So they're pretty important, right?
Actually, they are! And therefore, we hold them up to exceedingly high standards. However, if and when these standards are not followed, the guilty politicians are shunned. One prime example of this is when Boris Johnson (Prime minister of the UK) suspended parliment without permission from the queen making it unlawful. This caused intense debates within the UK about the actions of the Prime minister and what punishments were and were not suitable. This highlights how severe the pressure is for those who run our countries and how minuscule mistakes can forever change their presence in the public eye.
Do politicians really deserve the imense pressure placed on them by the general public?

Hi good_papaya, thanks for your post. You have asked an interesting question. Can you think about how different people would answer this question. For example: how might a politician answer this as opposed to a constituent?

i think they should because the public believe what they should have so they should cheer them on. Also if the MP sees the public telling people to vote them i think the MP would have more confidence in themselves.

i think they do deserve the pressure as it will make them do things the way you want it to but i also think they don't deserve the pressure as sometimes they need other politicians to agree so it makes it hard to decide whether they deserve the pressure or not

Yes I do think they should be feeling the pressure of their mistakes, because they are representing what the people of this country want. If they let us down they are not good enough to do the job.
