Today I am going to be talking about infodemic news. Before I start I have some questions for you. Do you think infodemic news is a good a bad thing? Can there be to much bad news? Or can there even be to much good news? Let me know what you think down in the comments below. Now to get onto infodemic news.

Infodemic news is when you have to much of he same story. Infodemic news is mostly bad news not good although I personly think there can be to much good news as well. At the moment with coronavirus there is a lot of news about every thing that is going on around us and that could be a bad thing as people start to worry and feel unsafe and scared. Although there can be to much bad news infodemic news can also be a good thing. For example we need to know what is happening in our surroundings. Most children have gone back to school this week in the UK and there was a lot of talk about that for the past few weeks which is a lot of the same news. For some this can be worrying and scary but for others it is exciting and your happy. This example was good and bad.

What do you think about infodemic news is it a good thing or is it a bad thing? Tell me int he comments.

Thanks for reading Interesting_Spring.

In my point of view, I believe that an infodemic is a bad thing. The main reason why is an infodemic a bad thing is because people might believe that wrong information is true and true information is false, this can make people have less trust in the media. If they believe the wrong information, they won’t protect themselves and the community. They could also start a riot (which is a type of protest, as we’ve learnt that in our past issue) and injure people, damaging things, families could lose their homes and go to prison. The people who believe that coronavirus isn’t real because of fake news, meet up with others, and spread the virus even more which could lead to more restrictions and more severe deaths.

People also only tend to share things that they agree with. So if people are sharing a lot of fake news, and lots of people believe it, it's easy to get sucked into a bubble that is actually completely different to the real world - and a long way from the truth.

Well done for making links between Issues, discreet_drum! And another well done for explaining the problem of people getting "sucked into a bubble" of information. Overall, this comment showed some fantastic problem-solving so I have awarded you with a star.
