Trouble in Bangladesh!

The people of Bangladesh are finding it hard to cope with all of the refugees from the Rhakine state. They are trying and helping as much as possible but many of the seven hundred thousand people who where forced to flee from their homes have come to Bangladesh. Being one of the poorest countrys makes it hard to provide for the refugees. I think that the government in Bangladesh are soon going to kick out the Rohingya becuase of lack of provisions like eduction and healthcare. I also think that in the future some people might die, some will earn enough money to travel to a safe country and some might hide until it's safe to go to their homes. I'm really desperate to go into the future and find out what happens to the Rohingya but I actually want to see what happens with my own eyes and find out if people have just exaggerated. I hope that the UN ( United Nations) have a solution to the problems and the refugees can return to their homeland.

Well done! I've awarded a star to this post because you have shown good curiosity. You've correctly used a new 'Discussion starter' post to bring up a new idea for BNC members to chat about. In this case, you're thinking about the effect of the crisis on Bangladesh.

What support do you think should be given to Bangladesh?
What do you think would need to happen for the Rohingya people to return home?

I think people should help Bangladesh by donating money or even donating something that is useful also people should donate something for the Rohingya people so they can stay safe and live a better life. For the Rohingya people to return home we should mostly donate money to them mostly or we could donate them food to keep them safe and healthy.

I'm not exactly sure if Bangladesh will be able to donate money to help the Rohingya people because they're a poor country and they probably don't have enough to provide for themselves.

I think that the Bangladesh government should allow the Rohingya in to the country as they have no where else to go right now. I think that richer, bigger countries could help Bangladesh with doctors, medicine, water and food so that the refugees are safer. The Myanmar government and the other countries need to talk to each other - not fight - and let the Rohingya go home when it is safe. I believe the Rohingya when they say they are being attacked as why else would they leave their own country?

I think the United Nations should help Bangladesh by sending them enough support to help them deal with the mass number of refugees flooding into the country and also enough money to simply help raise the quality of life in the already overpopulated country. I don't think that it is necessarily fair that a country that can hardly support it's own citizens has to deal with a crisis in another country; perhaps a better solution would be to send the refugees to a first-world country that can support the Rohingya such as the USA or maybe Japan.

Well done for considering who could help in this situation.

Some people might say that Bangladesh is a much better place for the refugees to be because they have more connections like having the same religion and a similar culture.

What might be some of the issues with sending the Rohingya people to places like the USA?

I understand that a multitude of issues could occur with sending the refugees to the USA especially during Trump's presidency such as mental health problems that come from being deprived from one's culture and perhaps racism on behalf of the Americans however at least they will be able to support them until a more suitable home can be found.

I think that it is really important that Bangladesh doesn't get over populated because that would cause more cars, more houses and more pollution.

I think that this is a very serious thing, its happening all over the world and not a lot of people with luxuries like us are not helping out! Imagine if you were the one who would injure a brother for water, imagine if you were someone who had never had the luxury of having extreme experiences like theme parks. Its sad to think that some people can actually leave it down to others to help these poor children and families. Just remember to imagine what it would like to be one of them, and think about it.

A problem that would occur when sending people from Bangladesh to the USA is that certain people will be unwilling to help out. They don't want to have to touch these people because they are dirty but they don't think that if it was them that were in that position they would not want to be turned down because they are dirty or have a strange wound from violence. It's the people that think they're the best and that those poor people don't deserve a place in the USA that would make it difficult to send them off.

I think that the UK and other places around the world should create a huge charity group to fundraise for the refugee camp in Bangladesh so the refugee camp will have enough money to provide for everyone. I see other charities like Anna's Hope and Cancer Trust really prospering in their work and I think people can do the same for the Bangladesh Refugee Camp. In the 21st century many people are using their voice to speak up for all the injustice, so someone out there should help this refugee camp. I hope someday that I will be able to do this to.

I think that financial help should be given to Bangladesh as it costs a lot (US$1 billion per year), and if they are to keep the Rohingya safe and alive, and run their country, they are going to need more money and support. To be able to relocate the Rohingya Muslims back to Myanmar, the military will have to stop their prejudice and persecution, so that it will be safe, there will be no more fatalities and so that they do not flood back to Bangladesh immediately, in fear of their lives. Bangladesh would also need more funding for this to happen, as they have to pay for transport and possibly housing for over 700,000 people. If this does not happen, and they are not safe to go back to Myanmar, the countries surrounding Bangladesh such as India and China should help accommodate them.

I feel disgusted when I hear the torture of Rohingyan people. The state they are in is outrageous, Aung San Suu Kyi is ignorant to the fact of 'her people' being tortured. I agree that violence isn't the best policy but in this case they should make a rebellion as this isn't right. If this was your family, would you want them to be hurt just for being a Muslim?

I think the UN should provide some more food as we have heard from many reports of the lack of food for the Rohingya: https://www.burnetnewsclub.com/issues/myanmar/the-discussion/is-there-enough-food-for-the-rohingya/ (this is a post you can give more ideas about food on this matter). I think the UN should also try and end this matter in Myanmar as quick as possible. Bangladesh is getting too crowded and there isn't enough for everyone. As soon as the matter is ended, the quicker Bangladesh will relieve a normal population.

There is approximately Rohingya 625,000 people in Bangladesh (information from https://www.burnetnewsclub.com/issues/myanmar/the-discussion/the-rohingya-people/). Where will the UN get enough money to transport each person individually. If you had to pay £1 for a person it would cost £625,000, but the cost would probably be £20 per person (this is a guess). That would be £12,500,000. Over a million pounds. More and more of the Rohingya travel to Bangladesh each day. And... It's probably more than "£20 per person.

I think that they should deafinatily donate money to Bangladesh because just think what the people are living like in overcrowded areas and its already a poor place. And probably just a 50p could make a huge diffrence to help the invirement around us.It could give them food,CLEAN water and CLEAN cloths.
