Is every perspective on a news story equally important?

I believe that every perspective is equally important because you must be open-minded to hear every perspective to understand the whole picture and the more views you hear, the more you understand.

One reason I believe this is that if you were only to listen to one side of the story, you may become bias. If you are bias you may not want to listen to the other side’s story because you are bias to one side. therefore you have become very bias. For example, in Myanmar, if you were only listen to pay attention to the anti-Rohnigya people’s side you would not know what the Rohingya people have gone through. “The military set fire to our houses”- Kobir Basar (one of the Rohingya people).

This shows that every perspective is equally important because you should be open-minded, to hear each side’s view. Due to the fact if we would only listen to Buddhists. We would not even know what the Rohingya people actually are going through it, you would hear that from perspective that would be. We would not know if the military set fire to their homes or that 700,000 Rohingya people are now refugees and were forced to leave their only homes.

A second reason I believe this is that it does not matter if the person is lying because you must be open-minded and listen to them and their option. This is important to hear them out due to the fact that it may help you, in some kind of way. It may help you to understand the entire picture, of the situation. For example, in Myanmar, we listened to a Buddhist view and even though it was racist it was still useful to hear because every perspective is important.

This shows that every perspective is important because even if the person explaining their perspective is racist or lying. It may help you to understand and see the whole situation or picture, better than you saw it before!
