"Every perspective on a news story is equally important"

I disagree with this statement. I believe that not all statements are equally important.

One reason I believe this us some people have experienced a certain event will state their perspective, whereas others have not but still comment on the situation.

For example in Myanmar, the Rohingya community speak out so people know about the crisis, however others may state their perspectives although they have not heard all the details. This shows that every perspectives are not equally important because people could post information that is false on social media.

The second reason I believe this is because in certain events witnesses know exactly what happens, but others base their perspectives on what they have seen in the news and other sources of information.

For example in Myanmar, most people are Budhist and the Rohingya community are Muslim so the other citizens in Myanmar call them illegal immagrants due to their beliefs and the Budhist civillians post their perspectives on social media which could influence others' opinions. The Rohingya community are not illegal immagrants and have lived in Myanmar for generations. This shows that some people believe what they want to believe and nothing else.

We've given this post a start because it's structured in a clear way which makes your arguments easy to understand. This is good storytelling.

You say that "some people believe what they want to believe and nothing else". Is it important for us to be aware of this? Would it matter if we never knew that some people have the wrong facts?

It is important to be aware of this because if we are not this shows we are not open-minded. Also, it would matter if we knew people had the wrong facts because then people would know the whole story and their statements would be factually correct.
