Hong Kong By Alphabet

These are words relating to Hong Kong in alphabetical order, from A-Z. There is a short explanation for each word.

A is for Arguments...

There have been many Arguments between the people of Hong Kong, and Parliament. This has caused the Parliament to be defaced, and many of the people of Hong Kong to be punished, and hurt.

B is for Bill...

According to the BBC, "There have been mass protests against an extradition bill", which is an act where one authority delivers a person accused or convicted of committing a crime in another authority, over to their law enforcement.

C is for Carrie...

Carrie Lam is the current leader of Hong Kong, chosen by the Chinese Goverment. This is what many people are also angry about; they claim that China is taking too much control and hold over Hong Kong - rightly so.

D is for Democracy...

There is none! This is yet another thing that the Hong Kongers are campaigning for. Truthfully, anyone would want this if they don't have it...

E is for Extradiction...

Like with B, this is the extradiction bill (see B for definition) that will happen if China triumphs and wins

F is for Future...

The future of Hong Kong remains unclear - will the Chinese Goverment give in? Will they send their much-feared army to end all this? How long will this carry on for? And, most importantly, could this be the start of another War?

G is for Generation...

The current generation know what they want, and are not afraid to fight for what they heavily believe in.

H is for Hate...

Hate is being spread accross the country, and even the people of China are ashamed of what their goverment is doing. Not only do people from all countries involved (including Britain) hate what is going on, they are almost afraid...

I is for Identity...

Hong Kongers know who they are, and loathe when people catogorise them as Chinese; they are not.

J is for Justice...

Justice is what the people want! And not only do they want it, the need it as a country.

K is for Knowledge...

Not very imaginative, but similar to I, Hong Kong and their protesters know what they want, and no matter how long it takes, will get just that.

L is for Long...

Many fear that the protests will go on for a long time, unless China gives in.

M is for Mayhem...

The riots have been causing mayhem all over public places, such as the airport. Hundreds of flights have been cancelled, and all this is down to the protests.

N is for No...

Hong Kong simply won't take no for an answer; they will keep on protesting and protesting until their voices have been heard and recognised.

O is for Origin...

Hong Kong have had both China and Great Britain take rule, and the origins and history is quite interesting... See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Hong_Kong#Modern_Hong_Kong_under_British_rule_(1950s%E2%80%931997)

(Wikipedia) for more info!

P is for Parliament...

Their Parliament was one of the important places defaced by the protestors in anger.

Q is for Questions...

I have many questions on this topic: Could this be the start of a War? Will Britain intervene, seeing as they signed an agreement along with China (the Sino-British Joint Declaration*)? Will China do as many fear; send in their army to put an end to all this "palaver"?

R is for Rules...

Hong Kong have to follow many what they might call unnecessary rules (going back to the Sino-British Declaration*) because of the fact that Britain and China used to rule over them, and before tehy became independant, they signed an agreement stating that Hong Kong would become part of China, but it would keep the legal, political and banking systems set up by the British and people living there would keep their freedoms.

S is for Spiry...

Spiry is the act of being full of life; nimble almost. The protests have continued with millions attending, the number growing each time.

T is for Tension...

There is a lot of tension going round, and even across the world from Hong Kong, here in London I can feel it!

U is for United...

The people of Hong Kong, young and old, rich and poor, have come together to protest as one. They have the same thoughts and are ready and willing to speak up.

V is for Voice...

Similar to U, these people have voices, and want to express them - rightly so. I would've said Violence, seeing as that fits too, but I feel like these people are only subjecting to violence since their voices cannot be heard, and being violent is one of the only ways of getting that voice heard...

W is for Willpower...

Willpower is the control of one's impulses and actions; self-control. They know what they want (they being Hong Kong) and will go to lengths of getting that. However, they do have self-control. They have not directly hurt anyone, even when a protestor was shot in the eye - to top that off, they showed sincerity and respect by wearing a red eye-patch the next protest.

X is for eXchange...

Okay, so I sort of cheated here a little, but finding words beginning with X is hard! The Goverments have exchanged - from Chinese to British. Not only that, but similar to E (extradiction bill), the convicts would exchange authorities.

Y is for Young...

...and old! Many people have been protesting, and I am repeating what I mentioned in U, people of all classes, genders, and ages came together to express their opinion.

Z is for Zealous...

Being zealous is when you are passionate or ardent about something; just like what the people of Hong Kong feel.

Credit to: positive_potato & all the users in the past who have done similar! I have wanted to make this kind of post for quite a long time, though never really got round to... (it takes a long time :) Thank you!
