A letter to Mr Gove

Tuesday 22nd October 2019

Dear Mr Gove,

I am a year 6 student at Hammond Junior School In Lightwater ,Surrey which is part of your constituency in Surrey Heath. I am writing to you in regards of the Hong Kong Crisis.

As you know we signed an agreement with China called one country, two systems where Hong Kong is part of China but Hong Kong is will have it’s own government (system). However China has broken this agreement and taking control of Hong Kong by making a new rule. The rule is, if a citizen of Hong Kong has committed crime, then they would be sent to Hong Kong and if found guilty will be punished there.

In my opinion, I think we shouldn’t intervene because 73% of our supplies originate from China and if we start to help Hong Kong from the new rule that the government of China have made up then we could make China angry and we. This means that we could lose out on the resources that China trade to us and our economy could decrease.

Furthermore, China have the biggest army in the world and if we do disturb the citizens of Hong Kong then we will have a possible chance of starting a World War 3. What a disaster! This means that if we do have a war , we are sure to lose and many pupils of our army that have kept us safe for a long time and fight for our country. We would have a chance of winning the war (if we do have one) if we had a complete army of a few other countries .

In conclusoin,it is a clear choise not to intervene as we have a lot of bad things that could happen to our country, along with Brexit on the horizon. Thankyou for taking your time to read this letter.

Yours sincerely
