This report is about the future of work, and the most significant predictions about it: The Gig economy, remote working and automation. These are all categories that experts are suggesting will occcur in the future. Due to the pandemic, the one that we are currently facing is remote working. This involves working online, instead of meeting in person. It has proved quite useful, since it is unadvisable to go and interact physically with others."
"However, this could also create problems for the future of work. For one thing, the connection and internet can lead to misunderstandings during things such as calls. Another point is that people could simply have not even listened to important things going on, as for example Ina face-to-face meeting, the boss should be able to identify presence. However, in a call you could simply off the camera and be doing a comepletely unrelated thing. In contrast, there are still ways to adapt and solve these problems. You could simply make sure that the places where the meeting takes place has no internet problems, and (in some cases) turn on the cameras of the person that you are trying to communicate to.
In opposition to that, there are still opportunities for remote working. For one thing, people might actually be able to save money or be paid more. They would not have to use transport, and things that they do in general at an office, they could do things at home for families and friends whilst working. Finally, they could also have a schedule for meetings, instead of a person bursting into your office and demands to see you.
Coronavirus has been quite a turning point for work, as it has changed people's working habits. Some people have gone from only working at home once per week, to all of the entire weekdays. Like the industrial revolution, more things are automated, but in all of these 3 catchments falls online working. You could be able to be a remote worker for the gig economy, and also devices used for it count as automated. This means that if any of these three predictions occur, there would probably still be some remote workers in the role for them. The pandemic has result in this becoming probably the most predicted prediction. It makes this turning occur more times already.
4 skills are key for the future of work: listening; speaking; problem solving and creativity.
Listening is important, since people learn more about the type of job that they are doing. When doing things, you learn more from others, and their experiences, in which make your working easier. Speaking is also very key, as it as well as teaching others, teaches themselves in a way. Whoever had been speaking, they would become more independent and seemingly good at what they do. Problem-solving is quite like its name- you solve problems! This can apply to online working, whatever the problem is, and also automation and, in fact, the gig economy. Finally, you would need creativity. This can also be used when speaking and problem-solving. Creativity is a good skill for workers to have because it allows you to apply your working even better than the 'restrictions' allow it.
All of these skills are important for the future of work, because they all highlight how different ways of work can be. We could do work more interactively, and that applies to speaking and listening. We can also work creatively, with (in the case of things such as an architect) good designs. Finally, jobs like being in the police or a detective would probably to have problem-solving skills.
