Session five: Issue 2 Final Piece
Please don't look ahead if you haven't done the session yet in the classroom, as that'll ruin the fun!
STEP 1
For this activity, show your opinion by copying the monster with the same opinion as you. For each one, think of your reasons!
- Is it ever possible to accurately predict the future? Should we trust these predictions? Why / why not?
- Why is looking for expert opinions important?
STEP 2
Your Final Piece news report.

OPTIONAL: you could turn your news reports into a short film or radio report.
Your turn!
Spend this week preparing your Final Piece. Don't forget to upload it as a new post before the end of the holiday! You can check out the Editor's Picks for some excellent examples.

I this is fine I'd love to ask a question so that I can include it in my final piece!!
My question is do you think the world will start adapting if we had automation in the world??

I've got a question . Will robots make us lose jobs or create jobs?
Take a look at some of the numbers from Session 4 to find the answer, dazzling_keyboard!
yes they will take our jobs but jobs like making the robots will open up
In my opinion I think they will actual will because one of my class members said that robots were going to take over the world. I agreed with him because bosses of shops will want to use robots instead of real people, it's like Charlie and the chocolate factory. Charlie's dad was fired from his work because the toothpaste company bought a machine which did it automatically and quickly. This is linked to automation.
Well done for finding themes from the future of work in your reading, aware_rabbit! But do you think that this example from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a reliable source of evidence for something that will happen in the real world?

I have a Question for Katie @ BNC
are robots the best thing for our new lifestyles during the pandemic?
That's a difficult one, sensible_horse! Why might different people have different opinions on this?
I think robots are going to be helpful because the robots can't get corona virus so they can help us with our work. If you were a shop owner like Ilhan and people are ordering food online there can be drones to deliver the food for people. And now people are losing their jobs and their being replaced by robots. Robots are helpful but people are losing their jobs. If they lose their jobs they wouldn't get money, so it is 65% for no robots and 35% for robots.
The only problem I would say is that the could be drones being stolen by away by people, it's a good idea.

The gig economy comes to Natasha the cafe owner because she can not serve food through a screen so she can not do any thing but what she did do was extend her shop so that she can open again but she will have more room for customers to come in and social distance.

What one would be more at risk remote working or gig encomy because i think it is the gig as you have to do like for example baby sitting and as the covid gets worse they cant go out so they will lose money??
03 Dec 2020
I think that corona virus has caused allot more problems than opportunities because people have lost all their jobs due to covid 19
03 Dec 2020
How can robots do life gards?
They cant because if they go in the water they will brake and then there will be no more robots and then we will have to go back to normal with human robots
03 Dec 2020
Robots will lose and give jobs dazzling_keyboard because they take jobs like packing stuff but they need people to make them so they give jobs its a one on one but they give to some and take from others.

I don't think anyone can predict the future because of animals and plants are evolving, so we do not know what will happen next. We can predict the future by being a scientist, scientists explore things that means they could know which animals will evolve and what they will evolve into.

robots, In my opinion I think robots are a bad idea because if a robot is your surgeon, you might not feel safe with him doing the surgery cause if it malfunctions, it will go wrong and you don't want that to happen. Plus, they will take your job and you wont have one which means you can't make money so you can't buy food or drinks or you cant pay your car insurance or house mortgage so you will be homeless and loads of robots will be going around doing your job since they took your job.
04 Dec 2020
no robots!
05 Dec 2020
I think that there are more problems than opportunities because lots and lots of people are losing there jobs and are working from home but like 10% of people can not even work from home because for example Natasha the cafe owner can not work from home and shop keeper can not work from home if they have corona and there are lots more jobs that can not work from home.
Thank you for reading :)

I think that automating everything will both help and restrict people at the same time with everything being done by machines and computers they won’t really need to have people to work but rather to come up with ideas and have creative minds witch means most people who work in labour would be fired so machines could take up there jobs witch means an increase in poverty around the world as not many people have the creativity and flexibility to change and would rather everything to stay the same

Hi BNC,
I would just like to ask if you make up your name for the final piece for introducing yourself?
Thanks,
eager_reflection
It is completely up to you, eager_reflection. You can be as creative as you like! The only thing that we ask is that you don't use your real name, as this is one of our Hub rules.

I agree!!!

Hi I would like to do a final peace work and I would just like to ask
What's your question, joyous_flight?
09 Dec 2020
I think what you say is good but If robots take up jobs don't you think robots would make jobs

Natasha and Ilhan had to adapt because of wave 1 of the corona virus, Callum the journalist is safe because he can do his work from home. Some shops, Remote working isn't even a choice. Natasha and Ilhan are taking risks and they have adapted because of the corona virus. Things have changed, so if we go to problem-solving skills that might be helpful in 2021.
