The coronavirus, Will this effect the NHS?

The coronavirus?
Many of us know about the coronavirus but if you dont for some reason I will give you a breif description of what it is. The coronavirus originated in china and is believed to have been spread from animals over to humans. It is a bit like having a flu or cold but we just havent found a cure yet. To prevent getting or spreading this just try and wash you hands thoroughly.
Ok I will get to my point now.
What this has to do with the NHS!
There are many people who are calling up hospitals or even visiting public hospitals with sick people in who believe they may have the coronavirus. This isnt always the case but if they do end up to have the virus the people in the hospital have to then be tested themselves and the poor peole who are ill cant get treated as they are being tested. This plays havoc with the hospital and many people in the area have to go to a different hospital. How is the government going to pay for this massive income in people in one hospital? There are already many hospitals that are understaffed what will happen then?
Please dont worry about the coronavirus for many kids have brilliant emune systems and even if you do get the viras 9 times out of 10 you will be completely fine :)

Great point! On my side of the argument, I think the coronavirus can be effective for the NHS because some doctors cn get the coronavirus because they are working 24/7. As you may know, the coronavirus is all over the world and pepole can even bring the virus to other countries and they have to fly to the U.K if they are in a different country and they could get more worse because they had spread the virus to more pepole. So, I think the coronavirus can be effective for the NHS because the NHS can even get the coronavirus too if they are working for the hospitals 24/7.
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ARGUMENT
I think the coronavirus does not cause effects to the NHS because some pepole in the NHS wear protective gear like masks and skin protection to get away from those nasty chemicals pepole are spreading in the hospital. If you have may been to a hospital before, you may know that the hospital has really really REALLY nasty chemicals because some pepole are mostly sick, but some pepole are hurt too.
thank you soo much for adding to this argument :)
I like the way you think Careful Beaver!
Yes but what happens if someone with the Coronavirus breathes are touches your mask?

This is a good question. I think that the coronavirus will affect the NHS because their might be a lot of people waiting to be seen.

I disagree with you. This is because they have found a cure for the coronavirus and they are starting to cure so many people already! Besides, we do not need to worry about it and just leave it to the experts.
Very true brilliant fossil
thank you for adding a different view and I see your point :)

I think it will affect the NHS really badly because there are over 115 cases in the UK. It would be especially hard because of the staff shortages and waiting times.
SENARIO:
You had the coronavirus, you were waiting in A and E you could spread it to the whole waiting room and staff

The Coronavirus can dramatically affect the NHS as if someone has the disease the doctor may catch it from that person which has already happened in the UK. The NHS could be reminded all the time to put on suitable clothing for their health which could be a con to why it can affect the NHS as this can possibly waste time or they may not have enough for all the staff in the NHS. The patients that are being treated need to stay calm as they have been shocked to hear the news that they have the virus. The NHS need to make vaccinations and this can also affect the NHS as they make the Vaccination for nothing and this could result in the NHS losing a lot more lives in the UK. The NHS can affect the lives of many other people if the formula does not work on them.
This is why I think the Coronavirus can affect the NHS.
i think that it might not affect them or they will get it as they know the dangers of the coronavirus so they can be carefull and they also have protective armor/suits and have ,medicine which is able to make them use some abilities wile infected with it

The coronavirus can effect the NHS because if there are more cases of the coronavirus that means the NHS have to have more people to look after them and it could be to much for the NHS.
i agree as just because doctors are doctors doesn't mean that they cant get affected because the coronavirus is spread by coughing and coughing on your hand and then touching something as a door handle then somebody will touch it and they will get infected. It is also worse because maybe then all the doctors/nurses might get affected then no one will be able to help each other. On the other hand people might think that they do have higher medicine which might make them be able to move and they wont feelin it or maybe they know a cure to fix it or to help a bit

Yes i get your point in some hospitals they do not let you come in if you may have the coronavirus and almost everyone will get it or has had it because for most people as you said it is just the flue or a common cold. Also it is the time of year where you will be getting a cold so it will be incredibly hard to know if you have the virus. Also they are not letting you back in the country if you have been to China,Italy,Korea and some part of EU.
There seems to be a misunderstanding here @spirited_pear. People can return to the UK after being in China, Italy and South Korea but they have to stay indoors and avoid contact with others if they have any symptoms. It is not likely that everyone will get the virus. Does this change the way you think that it will effect the NHS?

I think that the Coronavirus will effect the NHS, as the hospitals will want to have more room but this is only because they are trying to treat people. Or in an other case if they do not have enough beds to take you in there is now a way that you can treat your self at home but if it is a suspected broken bone or something a little more serious you can always go to your local A&E. Did you know in some cases the accident and emergency problems are not very important in a cases like you have a migraine or a tummy bug you have GPs on hand ready for anything like that so you don't have to go and rely on A&E .

i think that the coronavirus will not effect the nhs unless a patient comes in with it but I still think that they can still handle it.
06 Mar 2020
i think the coronavirus will effect NHS because they are treating people and they might get sick and that the virus had spread across the world so i think tat the nhs will get it unless they wear makes and gloves so they can handle it.

people that have any vivid symptoms of the virus have been strictly stated to self-isolate, therefore affected people will probably not turn up at any hospital. all patients have been advised to regularly wash their hands, and to do so thoroughly, using antibacterial soap or handwash. sanitising hand cream is also widely recommended so most of the population are aware to stay hygienic and to avoid interaction and contact with people they dont know. manners are also influenced by COVID-19, for example, coughing into a tissue rather than into your hand or out into the air. i understand that people may want to be tested to determine whether they are affected by the virus, but i suggest they seek medical assistance via the internet, rather than interaction. this way the virus will not be spread and everybody can stay healthy.

Thank you for this post, everyone stay safe.
09 Mar 2020
Yes it will because this is a world wide disease it has spread to different country's and it will keep on doing it because no one but the NHS is making a cure. There is a lot of people who have the corona virus that's why it will effect the NHS because they have to spread a worldwide cure for it.
09 Mar 2020
The coronavirus will effect the NHS because there will be more ill patients and its been spreading lately so more and more patients will have caught it a huge amount off people have caught it ,its really shocking the way its a virus what can spread through shaking hands its a world wide disease but in another way we don't have to worry a lot of people have been saved we should leave it to the experts.

We are blessed to live in a country that has a free national health service (NHS) as many other countries in the world have to pay for treatment.

I think if they find a cure and know what they are doing then they will be fine.
