Hello, my name is Gutsy_Plantain and I am in the Beneficial National Community party (BNC). I am giving a speech today about the NHS problems and how we can solve them. These problems are problems that the NHS and public have experienced.
The first problem i want to talk about is modernising technology to help with efficiency. I think we should change this because lets say you have a broken leg and you went to the hospital and got it x-rayed but the x-ray machine said that it is not broken but it really was that cound be really dangerous because you could damage your leg even more. Another reason is that if you go to A and E and you are waiting for the nurses to look through you records but it was taking really long you may be waiting for a hour or so. To change this I think we need to upgrade all of their technology and equipment.
The second problem is that we need to reduce the waiting times for appointments and care because in December 2019 for the first time ever every major A and E unit in England failed to hit its waiting time target. I think we should change this because nobody wants to be sitting in a waiting room for 2 hours. To change this i think we should build more hospital in or around local areas. I also think we cound train and hire more nurses and doctors so more people can see the doctor at the same time.
Another reason to build more hospitals is because in 2016 18% of UK residents were aged 65 or over which means more people are seeing the doctor. This also leads to needing more nurses and doctors.
Fourthly, I would like to say that i think we should be promoting healthier choses. We need to do this because NHS spend more money every year on medicines that people who dont make heathy choses are using.
Lastly, another problem is that the NHS are not prepared for virus outbreaks such as COVID-19 and many other viruses .
My promises that I have made today are realistic but may cost money and require all parties to work together to achive these goals. If these promises are not kept you can make me accountable.
