Do we Deserve Free Healthcare from the NHS?

In Britain, when we go to the NHS we don't have to pay and we can go there and come back all for free. But is this necessary? Wouldn't it be better if we just paid for healthcare like they do in USA, because I think it would solve all the money issues with the NHS, and furthermore all of the issues? In this post I will say why I think we should pay for our healthcare in Britain, and say why it benefits USA because they do.
Why is the NHS Failing Currently?
The reason the NHS is failing right now is because it doesn't have enough money to install the right equipment to meet people's needs. The NHS gets funded by the government, and that money comes from our taxes. So in a way we are funding the NHS but not there and then when we have our appointment, and the government doesn't have enough money to satisfy the needs of doctors in the NHS. It is nice that we don't have to pay for our many visits to the hospital, but it creates more problems than it fixes, so it would be much simpler to make us pay, and I fail to see why they haven't done that yet. The government have primarily ignored the fact that the NHS isn't doing well under this rule, so that is why they haven't chose to change it as of yet. If we paid for our healthcare it would solve all financial issues to do with the NHS and if it was my choice I would definitely change it to help people become healthy and well and cured from any diseases.
Why Would it Be Better if we Paid for Our Healthcare?
I did briefly answer this question in the last paragraph, but this is the full answer. I think it would be better if we paid for our own healthcare because it means doctors who do a particularly good job if you have an infection or illness are rewarded for their successes. I think this is good because doctors have a set wage like with most jobs but they don't usually get bonuses or anything like that. This is unfair because if you are very satisfyed with what a doctor has done they don't get anything to congragulate them and you won't pay them extra because healthcare is free in Britain. In USA, once you've had an appointment you pay the doctor or the hopsital they work at. If there are problems on the way that make it harder for them then they can charge you extra for it, and this also works the other way round: if there is an easy fix to an initial problem they have to charge you less than the original asking price. In UK, the government spends 9.4% of its Gross Domestic Product whereas USA spends 17.7% of its budget; the OECD average is 9.3%. While our's is pretty much average, we could do with spending more like USA does because we could be much healthier if we did.
What are the Downsides to the Last Paragraph's Message?
As I have realised, there are some flaws to the last paragraph, and in this one I will explain and see how we can avoid them. One of the obvious flaws is the fact that a lot of the potential money spent on healthcare could be wasted and that is what happens in the USA. With a lot of money comes the need of a lot of people to organise it; with a lot of people comes a lot of responsibility and power and with that power comes a lot of decisions that could have been chosen wrongly. What I mean by this is that some people might choose to buy unneeded equipment with the money which is no upgrade to the last. This means that money is being spent trying to upgrade hospitals (specifically those of who belong to the NHS) but instead of upgrading we are staying the same. This has actually happened in USA where a lot of money has been spent but some of it wasted. And that is the main risk with trying to spend more money on healthcare in UK. But there is another problem: there are other things to focus on. What I mean by this is there are other things to do with the government's money, like preserving the environment and protecting citizens with the army. This has become apparent with the USA when they have spent to much money on healthcare in the past and they don't have enough money for other things which actually do help the country in many ways that rivals the need of healthcare.
Conclusion
To summarise, we should pay for our own healthcare because it is quite a simple idea that would benefit the NHS and would immediately stop most money problems with the NHS and how it is run. There are, however, some problems which are actually bad and hard to ignore but as long as we approach them correctly nothing bad should happen. We need to change the free healthcare agreement to make it so you have to pay.

Thank you for this post succinct_leaves. You're right, the NHS is paid for by our taxes, so it is 'free at the point of delivery' and so this is a good phrase to use, instead of 'free health care'. The latter suggests no one is paying at all!
Why would they need to pay ? Surely if they are old or have a medical heath problems they wouldn't need to pay but it wouldn't be fair if the others don't get it free. I think everybody should get it free do you agree ?👍👍

I think that we should have free health care from the NHS because some people sometimes people cant afford health care for them or their children so if they are unwell they cant get better.
I disagree with you because if we have expensive healthcare then the NHS would make more money which means they can upgrade there systems and the NHS workers work very hard to treat are problems. With more money the NHS can be very successful because they will have very high tech systems and high paid workers so that’s why I disagree with you.

I believe that the NHS should make us pay for treatment because, like you said, they don't have enough money to pay their of staff and still keep updating the hospitals and equipment. This is becuase when the government takes our money in the form of tax, they don't use enough of that money to fund and care for the NHS and their staff, leading to my previous sentence. Whereas, if we, the public, pay for our treatment or checks, the NHS recieves money which they can use to by things and treat patients with the correct tools and quipment, saving and solving many problems and even saving lives.
Looking on the other side, if we don't pay the NHS and receive free healthcare, then the money which would have been paid wouldn't be wasted on unimportant things instead of being used wisely like some people could do. If we just use the money to update and upgrade previously owned items, that money could be used instead to buy new or better tools. The NHS wouldn't even get any money more than the government pays them so the management team couldn't buy and replace things that are ethier old or don't work properly, causing delays to appointments and pushing up the risk level for health. This is already happening.
To conclude, I think that we should pay the NHS as well as the government paying them becuase it would be benificial to the staff and it would save lives with the extra money so they can get more equipment to help patients get well and stay healthy.
What might be some of the challenges with your suggestion?
Some of the challenges that may occur to the NHS and the govermnment are that not everyone has enough money to pay for everything and that means they can't afford the treatment that they need, causing the illness to rise to a more of a risk level. Like I said in my comment, our money goes to the government, so they can pay the NHS, getting them the materials that they need with our money. This happens to fund other businesses and companies. But, if someone has already payed the tax previously and need the extra money for food or shelter, they can't pay much becuase of how much money they have and what they choose to do with it. Recently, the NHS has been struggling becuase of their pay levels and they need the extra money in the form of tax because lately, queues have been longer, and appointments have been delayed because of their shortages of staff and equipment.
To conclude, these are the struggles and challenges that the NHS might face in the future of their health care.

I think we should because of these reasons:
Firstly, if people have a serious problem or a broken bone and they come to the NHS and have to pay a lot of money then if they can't afford it then it will take longer for it to heal than getting it treated and getting it better in a few weeks.
Secondly, I strongly agree it is unfair on children around the world to become ill and not get the treatment they deserve. Say that was you. You were going to the hospital with a bad leg and your parents didn't have enough money to pay for the treatment. If this happened, you would have had to miss stuff you like doing like sport, going out with friends etc. This can't be allowed by doctors to let kids go home in pain and miss out doing fun things.
These reasons some up why we can't have innocent children going home with an injury that will last for weeks.

Can you explain why it's different for children vs adults?

I agree that we should pay for our health care but at the same time we are paying higher taxes to fund the NHS but if we where to start having to pay for our health care the taxes would have to go down because otherwise people might not be able to pay for there taxes or there health care and in America they also have to pay for ambulances wich would also mean if you would like us to start paying like America. not as many people will be able to pay for ambulances and surgeries what if they do not have that much money to be able to pay for there surgeries and mor people may die and it would probably have to go into a vote with the people
25 Feb 2020
Personally i think we do because we technically pay for the NHS in our taxes we pay some money. for example if a person was poorly and poor they wouldn't be able to pay for medicine but as we have FREE medical care it makes it a bit more fair. if a person was giving birth the could give birth safely and quickly. if we start paying it will effect the lives of many!
25 Feb 2020
yes because they can help more people to change peoples lives.
25 Feb 2020
Personally I think we shouldn't pay for healthcare but if we had a choice I would feel bad because nobody would want to pay for their hospital appointments even though I would feel guilty what if somebody was poor then they might not have the money to pay for healthcare.
25 Feb 2020
I do not think there should be free health care because that is the job and they should not be doing it for free because what they do deserves money because they do a lot to help us. They are huge role modles to every one who has had their lifes saved by them. However, they could put their prices down a bit.
25 Feb 2020
I d just like to say its not really free because you have to pay the government for taxes and everything including health care but really good tho
Yes I talked about this in my post but when you pay taxes not all your money goes towards healthcare; it can go towards other things such as helping the economy and preserving. I had a really hard time deciding if it was free or not. Please can you say what you think, as I am still not fully sure of the answer.
well what I was trying to say that I also was trying to decide whether it was free or not and came to the conclusion it technically isn't because you have pay for taxes which goes towards literally anything and the NHS is a part of that. I am basically trying to say we have a great health care and we deserve it so I think that it is free and unless someone has an extremely good argument against that then so be it
Well, if you want an argument against your opinion, then you can read my post and assess whether you think it is good or not. I think it is free because, like I said before, not all our money goes to the NHS so it goes towards other things. That means if you are poor then you will pay less money and rich people pay more in taxes, so your healthcare could get covered by their money.

I think we do not deserve free health care because they do so much for us and we do not do anything for them!
So what if someone was really poor and they later had a severe injury then if they didn't have enough money to pay for the health care they might have a result of death, but if it was free they have a chance of surviving.
You are right but they do so much for us we do not do anything from them! We should all try and smile at them or something a smile would we good! Or a compliment!
True, but the NHS is paid by our taxes, so that's kind of something we do for them, but like you said the patient should give them like a compliment since they did something life-saving for us (it might not be something that is treated for something that can cause death).
25 Feb 2020
On the one hand, some people think that we don't deserve free NHS health care. This may be because they think that they should get paid a lot for helping out the community but if we don't have to pay they wont get payed as much because as I am sure lots of your parents say...…MONNEY DOSNT GROW OFF OF TREES!!!!!! This is a big thing because they have chosen to help out the people around them so they deserve to be treated with respect at least and to be paid a lot.
However, on the other hand other people think that we do deserve free NHS care because some people out there are in serious danger and need this help. They may not have enough money to pay for the care that they need which is bad because lots of people are dying in other countries from things that cant be helped but some cases that are coming in now are easy to deal with and it would be a shame if they couldn't afford the help because we could of all helped that person but no! At the moment I think that you have to pay for some medical surgeries but other easier ones are not needed paying for because of how minor the injury is.
What do you think? put your ideas and thoughts down below. That's all from me,

This is my view, hope you consider.
My answer might sound a little bit vague. Ish. My answer is ish. Im my opinion we all deserve free health care, but it is not the most nice and pleasant thing to do. If all the financially stable people who have quite a lot of money buy privately, the waiting time would decrease in A and E. There are many horror stories when someone with a serious-ish injury or disease like gastroenteritis are waiting in their for over 4 hours without treatment (even if you were to be given a numbing pad, it would wear off by the time they come back). It is a horrible thing to happen to you or to somebody you know and surprisingly it happens on a regular basis. As I said at the top of my paragraph, people who can afford Private health care (from somewhere like Buba) should really get it so the queues in A and E are shortened. Also, I think more workplaces (like schools) should offer free health care to their employees (in the case of the schools, the teachers). Not all workplaces give free health care, unless they are quite a well-paid, high up in the ranks job, and not even then do they always give free health care. If you are in one of these high up well paid jobs, then it should be a legal requirement to buy your own private health care, and if you are in a less fortunate position of being in a less paid job, then the company should try and invest into getting their own free health care for all of their employees. In conclusion, I would say that we all deserve free health care, and it is a perk if you want to move to Britain, but it was a better idea years ago when it was made and it does need some tweaking now to fit nowadays and as the queues are really long and it makes the company less useful and more of a annoyance to anybody using it.

I do respect your opinion but this can ruin Britain and its people. This can ruin many lives because the people who can't afford to pay their bills how would they be able to pay for a serious matter (like surgery) which is very expensive. As you might know, not everyone has a job in the UK and also they could be an alone man or women (with kids or not). We always need to see every point of view because then we can make decisions that are suitable for everyone to follow. At school, we discussed this at our tables and when we had to tell the teacher, no one could make a viewpoint or decisions without ever having a downside. Everything must and will have a downside because others will have a different view about the problem and we are different from each other. Many people in the world are poor because they don't have enough money. Your or my life could have changed for the better or the worse. It's usually the country and the government or sometimes the people who decide on how the country is run and that could or couldn't affect people. In my country, it is or it was hard for some people to live there. because they get treated differently. Another country is ruling it and it is very hard for us to follow those rules. You need to pay monthly fees to go to school, you need to pay for having little cuts to surgeries. They were treating us differently and were not being fair.B ut in Britain, you don't need to worry about any of that. I don't want England to be called a place where you have to pay for everything or it's not a fair country. I hope you understood why and thankyou. determined _orange.

I am in the middle of free health care and not!
Reason 1: against free health care!
So many reasons why it should not be free because we do not really do anything to the NHS and they always do it with a smile! When I was at hospital my mum was getting a check up and I needed to go to the bathroom and she was all hooked up so she said go to the toilet around the corner so I did and I could not open the door! And a nurse came and opened the door because they always have a key! And she smiled at me! I was so warmed by she just did something small to make me happy! They always do something nice to make your day!
Reason 2: why should not because what if someone was poor and they had a bad accident and they had no money so they could get free health care but it won’t be right but it would also make there day!
Conclusion: I am now kind of leaning towards we should not have free health care also more equipment more funds!
By loyal_lobster❤️ Thanks for reading share your opinions I am open to read them!
Can you explain why your first reason is against free healthcare?
Ok... we do not need free health care because the nurses and all the staff help us and save so many lives we should return the favor to them and even try to smile at them or thank them for saving so many lives! And I think depending on the treatment is how much they should pay them also my mum just had her operation for the second time because she has recovered and they took out the nails and rods! Thank you loyal_lobster❤️
27 Feb 2020
I think we should deserve free healthcare because sometimes treatment comes up way to expensive and some people cant pay for it because they need the money for other things like food and water and in some countries they say if you cant afford to pay for it then you cant come to the hospital i think that is not fair because people hurt themselves all the time and brake bones all the time so i think we do deserve free healthcare treatment
27 Feb 2020
Depends on what it is?
27 Feb 2020
I think we should get free health care because it saves so many people lives it also saved my mum`s life and if we just count the amount of lives it has saved we would be sitting her for a long time just to bring up if we did not have free care people with no money would still be ill we would DIE or get iller and iller in a nother way we would be like Hitler just with a different cage
thank you for reading
27 Feb 2020
no I think free healthcare is an amazing idea😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
What do you mean?
27 Feb 2020
i think the NHS should make us pay for treatment because its like everything else we have to pay for & it helps our life and everone around the world.
27 Feb 2020
I think it's fair because if we didn't get free health pepole with cancer will die
27 Feb 2020
I think the U.K deserves the NHS because there are a lot of ill pepole in the world and imagine if nobody cared if someone broke all of their bones or a baby had the coronavirus. This makes all of us to be proud to be British because we have the lovely health services and the NHS can even save our lives.
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DEBATE
I think the U.K does not deserve the NHS because we have other doctors, there might even be one near your house. Doctors are always there to help you, even with really really really really really really really really really really (all the reallys in the world) bad diseases.
Thank you for taking your time to read my comment and I hope you have a good rest of your day.
27 Feb 2020
YES. Some of our taxes already go to the NHS and so I think that is enough money already to pay for the NHS.
Another reason why I think we deserve free healthcare is because some people with low income cant afford to pay.
scenario:
a person with low income is chocking very badly ,he has only £900. A doctor comes and says that the operation costs £1000. the 'low income person' then dies because of the cost.
Is there evidence to suggest the current taxes are not enough for the NHS?
27 Feb 2020
yes because it could change lots and lots of peoples lives.
27 Feb 2020
I have commented on this post before but I thought I would put my ideas out in the open again for everyone to talk about and discuss.
We live in a democracy which means everyone should be treated the same and everyone (over the age of 18) can vote in general elections to tell everyone what they think about the situation. This is why I think that we shouldn't get free healthcare. Because they won't get paid as much. This isn't fair because they shouldn't get paid less just because of their choose of job. As you can see, to come to these desks ion always I have been using open mindedness, scepticism and reasoning. Can you do the same? Give it a go! That's all from me. Thanks for reading,
happy_fact
28 Feb 2020
no we should pay the sintest done all this eny way
28 Feb 2020
i dont think so because of so much greed in the world and not enough manners also i do because of all them polite people/babys/children getting affect from the chrona AND BORIS DOES NOTHING AGAIN!!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡
28 Feb 2020
we should be happy
28 Feb 2020
I think we shouldn't have to pay because we deserve it free because we might get ill even more because what if we don't have the money to pay because we are ill to much.
28 Feb 2020
I am in between of not having a free health care or not!!
I think we should have free care because health is the most important thing that people need to live and not everyone has enough money to pay for medication or surgery e.t.c. or for example why would we have to pay £20+ for a check up.
I also think we need to pay for our medication and surgery because these people working at the NHS are saving our lives so we need to pay BUT it depends on what kind of surgery it is ALSO if they are elderly i think they don't think they need to pay as much as they probably retired so they wouldn't now have thousands of pounds to pay for surgery or medication so they should pay but less!!👌👌👌😎😆
28 Feb 2020
I think the way it is,is perfect because some people could be in serious need of medication or they need a doctor, and they don't have the money to afford the prices of the medication. So I think we deserve it free and also very lucky to have it free because some countries aren't like that and they don't do that.
28 Feb 2020
We always have to pay but we pay in our taxes so if I broke my leg I would have to go to the hospital then I would be treated and some random person is paying for my injury in their taxes.
28 Feb 2020
Paying for our healthcare would solve lots of financial issues with the NHS. It would result in much stronger healthcare. This would also mean the money spent on healthcare by the Government could be spent elsewhere.
However, not everyone can afford healthcare. If someone has an ongoing medical condition, and cannot afford healthcare, the results could be fatal. In addition to this, if you hurt yourself and need medical assistance, you will not have the time to pay for your treatment.
To conclude my opinion, I believe that there should be free healthcare.
03 Mar 2020
Some people say that there should be free health care because we pay for it in taxes and that is exactly right, however the money we pay in taxes might not be the exact amount that our medications or x-rays or even operations cost so therefore the NHS are losing money. On the other hand, some people don’t need that big of a care and don’t use up all of there tax money. Some people do not pay regular visits, and others don’t even pay tax some NHS hospitals can’t even afford to buy new things. To conclude this comment I think that we should pay extra money to help the NHS for now and the future.
I like you influence
04 Mar 2020
it is a real pirvilege to have the NHS for free but we take it for granted a bit. In other countries you have to pay about 5000 pounds to have a baby, rip off.
05 Mar 2020
I liked the point you gave about smoking. I think we should all have free health care in the NHS because everyone should be treated equally because it does not matter who you are because it is a person who is ill and getting them better is what matters and it doesn't matter how much money you have.
05 Mar 2020
In my opinion, I think that we should get free healthcare because some pepole may be magoirly poorly and might have got the coronavirus and the flu!!!!! And imagine if the NHS did not know, or all of the hospitals in the U.K were completely full because of these stupid viruses coming around the planet and in different countries.
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ARGUMENT
I think that we should not get free healthcare because the disease they may have might not be that important. Imagine a girls mother called the NHS and there was still some spaces in the hospital, actually I mean a LOT of spaces in most spaces saying that their daughter fell over and hurt their knee. The mother might have plasters for her knee anyway.
Thank you for taking your time to read this comment and have a good day
05 Mar 2020
Sorry i didn't mean to write smoking I meant to write about the paying for our health care
06 Mar 2020
I agree succinct_leaves,we should have to pay for heath care as if we did not pay for it,we the hospital’s which had heath care free could not be able to pay for:the equipment ,doctors and treatment, if any hospital did not have this ,they would not be able to help save other people’s lives. Adding to my point, the NHS already do not have enough money so making heath care free ,would make it even harder for the NHS. To conclude, I think that making heath care free is a bad idea , as it would make the NHS not being able to do their job of saving lives.
06 Mar 2020
I think that people with not as much money should have free healthcare and people that have more money should pay.
06 Mar 2020
In my opinion I do think that we do deserve free private Heath care as if we were to get ill it would not be our fault. It will be especially hard to not get ill as the Coronavirus is spreading round at a rapid pace. Also the poor people are having to pay money for health care and may not be able to afford all the things that is vital in life such as food water and a home. Also the poor people still need to pay even though they may not be ill and might not be receiving the treatment they need. But there is a twist. On the other hand the NHS does need to get money so they would really need people to pay money so they can be able to afford all the medicines and staff. A solution to the problem is to get the more wealthy to pay more money for the NHS and the poorer to pay less. Another solution could be to only pay money when you are ill so you don't have to keep constantly paying money when there is no need. I also subjected this in a previous post but we can also create a charity for the NHS and advertise on tv or on posters to help raise money for the NHS.
Thanks for your insight @miraculous_knowledge. You have presented a few solutions here. Which do you think is the best opinion?
I think that the best option would to be to only pay if you are ill or are needing treatment which the NHS provides.
06 Mar 2020
If we pay the NHS money for healthcare that means the taxes are rising as well as the public are using their money for healthcare even though its not their fault.
09 Mar 2020
I think we should and we should not. I have a lot of reasons for we should have healthcare and not free healthcare.
People who are poor should have rights for free healthcare because they have to pay bills and they will not have much money for their healthcare, people who are rich will be paying for people who are poor. This will be unfair because rich people can spend their money on their own family but instead they will have to pay twice the amount of money for them and the poor. What I think is everyone should have free healthcare because everyone is the same. If people are poor that is not their fault.
09 Mar 2020
well done hope this one will go well
12 Mar 2020
we do deserve free health care because some of the illnesses are killing people

I believe that the NHS should make us pay for treatment because, like you said, they don't have enough money to pay their of staff and still keep updating the hospitals and equipment. This is becuase when the government takes our money in the form of tax, they don't use enough of that money to fund and care for the NHS and their staff, leading to my previous sentence. i think we should have free health care because if we dont poeple can sufer more and that means more deefs
13 Mar 2020
we do deserve to have the NHS even know we sum times don't be nice to them its nice what they do is no't essay. They are dealing with the kroner vireos their lives are at risk !
13 Mar 2020
We need free Healthcare for elderly people won`t have to pay because what if they are homeless and have no money so we need free Healthcare for the people that have no money.
13 Mar 2020
the NHS stay healthy so we should to
13 Mar 2020
I think the elderly's should have free health care because they are getting old
What's the current situation?
14 Mar 2020
we do pay for the NHS and we do it through our taxes but only a few people pay money for the NHS and i think wealthier people should pay more taxes but at the same time no
16 Mar 2020
I believe that we should not pay for healthcare but still pay taxes for it . In the USA it is like $13000 to have a baby which is just crazy . The most important thing we should remember though is that we are lucky because we live in a country where healthcare is free so none of that money paying business .
18 Mar 2020
this is not good because we need medicine to help us and you to get well
18 Mar 2020
I think that we should get free healthcare but only sometime, because some things can be serious and some don't necessarily have to be (like having a baby- serious. Small stomach aches-not really serious). Richer people and the ones who get paid a lot of money should pay more than other people like poor people, people who don't have enough money or elderly people. I also agree with committed_desert that we should pay taxes but not healthcare.
19 Mar 2020
I think that people with certain illnesses or injuries do deserve free healthcare but not everyone but I will explain both sides of the argument.
My opinion.
My reasoning for this is that certain people get illnesses and can’t do anything about it and it spreads naturally or have injured themselves accidentally but some people, like the people who are obese, are able to stop it before it gets their far so they deserve to pay or people are doing causing unnecessary risk like climbing a tall bridge with no harness. If they fall off they should have to pay for the NHS using up valuable money and time for an accident that could easily have been avoided.
Why people do deserve free healthcare.
Firstly, people usually can’t stop an illness spreading or it is not their fault if they become ill or injured and need treatment. They don’t deserve to have to pay because they couldn’t stop it themselves. They are just unfortunate that they caught the illness or got injured by possibly playing sport and being tackled. This is all accidental so the patient shouldn’t need to pay. I think if you were injured on purpose by another person they should have to pay for your trouble. It isn’t right for these people to pay. Also, people pay for NHS treatment already through tax because 20% of taxes go to the NHS
On the other hand, people should have to pay for using the NHS’s employers’ time and the money the government have given to the NHS. Soon the money will be gone and the government will have to give more until there isn’t any left. People could say that children deserve free healthcare but they surely have a parent who can pay for their treatment. In addition to this, some people’s injuries or illnesses could have been easily avoided by making the right choices by not doing silly things where the consequences and risks are not worth having a bit of fun for a day.

I think the NHS is a very important and unique health service and we should support it even through the hardest of times.

I agree because some people can't afford health care and they could have mental illnesses or a long term illnesses if your 16 or under you get free prescriptions. In England we get free health care but in other country's like America

should we pay for the NHS or not?
On one hand people might think that paying for our healthcare is a good thing because if we need to be cared for then we can go straight to our local NHS centre and not have to pay as soon as we walk in. On the other hand others might not think it is such a good idea to pay because they might think that they will not need to go to the NHS ever so they wont pay. I think it is a good idea to let children under the age of 16 go to the NHS for free because at a young age you tend to do lots of sport and you could fall over and have concussion but this way you know that you have already paid for it. If you don't have a lot of money and you need to have an operation, I think there should be a fund for people that have more money or people who are genourous, to put a little bit of money in so people who need that money can claim it so they have more money to pay for their operation.

Well done for adding both sides of the argument.

YES, because we pay enough tax as it is. There is a deadly virus going around and if people can't afford the NHS health care that they need they will get worse and possibly die.
Remember that the NHS is free at the point of delivery so no UK citizen has to worry about not being able to afford it.

Yes , we do deserve a free healthcare because some people don’t have enough money to pay for the healthcare and we cannot use all the money for this because we also need money for our selves.
If the healthcare wasn’t free most of us would be sick and pass away so this event must be free.
We know that most country’s healthcare isn’t free so therefore we are lucky to have a free healthcare system.
Where should we get the money from, humble_hummingbird? Do you think should be from taxes, and if so, what's the fairest way of taxing people?

i think we should have free healthcare because we need healthcare end we dont want to spend a fortune on it because in america its like 13000 dollars to have a baby😱.
