Are the NHS doing enough?

Right now, all sorts of problems are occurring in the world. In Italy, the Coronavirus has killed more than 460 people, which is more than any other country apart from China. The Italian government decided it needed to do more, so all schools and universities are shut, events have been cancelled and museums have closed, and people are being asked to stay home unless they have a very good reason not to. The UK Government has advised people not to travel to Italy unless it is essential, and anyone returning from Italy is being told to stay indoors and avoid contact with other people.

Right, back to the NHS with coronavirus issues ther have been so much calls from UK citizens that therefore they couldn’t cope with testing so much people. So instead they told people that if they have mild symptoms or fever of the virus then they should self-isolate for 14 days (2 weeks). The government said recently that people that are 70 and over should automatically self-isolate. Most schools in England were due to shut on Wednesday 18th March 2020 but there are still about 4 that have to be open for a good reason.

The NHS have told people who need to to self-isolate because there isn’t enough staff to check on people who may have symptoms of Coronavirus.

The NHS is doing a lot at the moment to help people at this time of need. Can anyone find links to stories about the steps the NHS is taking? There are a lot of positive stories of people working together! You're right that many schools have been asked to close their doors to pupils, but there are some pupils who will still be attending because of their parents' jobs.

I think that the NHS are doing as much as they can and I think that they are doing enough. They are absolutely packed with patients and are taking in the people with more serious cases, especially older people with Corona-virus. As Tom said, they have lots of positive stories of them all working together, and I personally think that they are doing their best.

I agree. The NHS don’t have enough staff to serve everyone at once. Although I do think they are doing as much as they can to stop the virus from spreading. That is why they have told everyone to self-isolate.
