i my self don't get pocket money but i think certain people get pocket money because maybe that money is theirs and that maybe it's an experience ofthem having their own money.

I think the same neather do I get pocket money and yes it can be an experience for them to know what it’s like. And I don’t want pocket money because I don’t think I am mature enough to be handling money yet.

I agree that children should have rights to have pocket money so they can buy something that they want instead of there parents buying them what they want so I think kids should have money.

I think that pocket money may be good for children and teens to get experience, but my opinion of pocket money is kind of a reward for doing something useful around the house and is given so the child has their own money to buy something they want but it is a parent/carers decision to give them their own reward that they are responsible for.

Adults may want to give their children pocket money, because they might want to teach their children how to be responsible with money. This is also useful because, it can let children make decisions for themselves: like whether they want to spend it all in one go or save up for something larger. Pocket money can also help them in the future. Most children do a chore in return for money. This is like doing a job, when there adults, in return for money.
But on the other hand, some children may not understand the importance or value of money; they might make the wrong decisions when spending. They might spend their pocket money on things with no real value. Some adults might give pocket money to children who are too young.
For instance a parent gives their child, who is 10, £10.00 a month. Their child might decide to save up until the end of the year to buy something they really want.

Well done for being open-minded and giving reasons on both sides of the arguments. What's your own opinion about this, having considered both sides?

My final opinion, considering both sides, is that adults should give children pocket money.

In conclusion to this topic, I think that children should get pocket money when they can be more responsible with it because when I was about 5, I used to get pocket money and spend it on useless things such as bouncy balls which I previously already had. Whereas I could have saved up all my pocket money and helped the homeless or disadvantaged people. So ending this off I think that children should get pocket money when they are a little older or when they knew full well of money.
