TEN YEARS ON - WHAT HAVE WE LEARNT?

For the purpose of the Bank of England committee meeting I would like to propose the following to ensure that we do not have a finacial crisis again.

The bank needs stricter rules for when they lend money to poeple. In the past banks have loaned money to people when they are not in a position to pay them back. For example, ten years ago average household debt climbed from less than £3000 to £4000 in the last decade. One reason is that banks made credit cards available to many customers.
