What's more dangerous? Hurricanes or Tornadoes?

Firstly, what do you think is more dangerous. Hurricanes or Tornadoes. Well, I think they are both just as dangerous as one another, but surely one has to do more damage than the other. Well, Hurricanes bring strong winds, but Tornadoes also bring strong winds. But, Hurricanes are bigger than Tornadoes, so does that mean they are more a threat to us human beings? Not always. Even though Hurricanes are usually bigger, Tornadoes sometimes bring stronger winds. But, Hurricanes cause more damage usually because they are bigger.
Tornado winds=up to 300 miles per hour
hurricane winds=up to 190 miles per hour
I think Hurricanes are more powerful because they cause more destruction. But, what do you think is more powerful!?

Thank you for this comparison brilliant_ibex. It would be useful for us to know your source. Where did you find this information? Are there any other differences between hurricanes and tornadoes?

Hurricanes are more dangerous than tornadoes because they cause more damage than tornadoes.
Can you please explain how?

Hurricane is a storm with a violent wind, in particular a cyclone in the tropical Carribbean. It is caused by water vapor which serves as "fuel" for the hurricanes because it release" the latent heat of condensation"when it condenses to form clouds and rain, warming the surrounding air.(This heat energy was absorbed by the water vapor when it was evaporated from the warm ocean surface ,cooling the ocean in the process.)
Whiles tornado is a mobile ,destruction vortex of violently rotating the appearance of a funnel-shaped cloud and advancing beneath a large storm system.
Tornadoes are form when warm, humid air collides with cold ,dry air.The denser cold air, usually producing thunderstorms. The warm air rises through the colder air, causing an updraft. The updraft will begin to rotate if winds vary sharply in speed or direction.

An interesting comparison! You talk about hurricanes and tornadoes causing destruction. Can you give us some examples of the type of destruction that hurricanes and tornadoes cause?
It causes storm: killing 600 Florida keys also Hurricane Camille in 1969,which ravaged the Mississipi coast killing 256; and Andrew in 1992,which leveled much of Homestead, Fla.
Tornadoes can rip off doors break windows ,upend mobile homes,it can tear off roofs, uproot or snap large tress and pick up cars

I think tornadoes are more dangerous due to its fastness and can cause a lot of destruction in small minutes or hours. Tornadoes as we all know, send things taken, high into the sky because of its length.

Both are storms with strong winds
Tornadoes begins over the land while hurricanes on the water. Hence their destructive nature. None is safer, both are destructive. In terms of the size, hurricane can be hundred of miles wide while tornado can be less than a mile.

According to what i have read in this post, tornadoes are more dangerous than hurricanes because tornadoes are much stronger and faster then hurricanes whiles hurricanes are much bigger than tornadoes.

I have never experienced this before, but I think hurricanes are more dangerous than tornadoes🤔🤔.

The differences are in scale. Even the strongest tornadoes for exceed that from the strongest hurricanes, hurricanes typically cause much more damage individually and over a season, and over far bigger areas. Economically, tornadoes cause about a year, on average, as hurricanes. Hurricanes tend to cause much more overall destruction than tornadoes because of their much larger size, longer duration and their greater variety of ways to damage property.

How what is your proof

Hurricanes tend to cause such more overall destruction than tornadoes because of their much larger size, longer duration and their greater variety of ways to damage property. ... Tornadoes,in contrast, tend to be a few hundred yards in diameter, last for minutes and primarily cause damage from their extreme winds.''

I say tornadoes because of the high speed wind which destroy buildings.

I think they are dangerous since they can destroy and take humans lives. But the danger will be determine by the particular country and the kind of climate change experienced.

The differences are in scale. Even though winds from the strongest tornadoes far exceed that from the strongest hurricanes, hurricanes typically cause much more damage individually and over a season, and over far bigger areas. Economically, tornadoes cause about a tenth as much damage per year, on average, as hurricanes. Hurricanes tend to cause much more overall destruction than tornadoes because of their much larger size, longer duration and their greater variety of ways to damage property. The destructive core in hurricanes can be tens of miles across, last many hours and damage structures through storm surge and rainfall-caused flooding, as well as from wind. Tornadoes, in contrast, tend to be a few hundred yards in diameter, last for minutes and primarily cause damage from their extreme winds."Economically, tornadoes cause about a tenth as much damage per year, on average, as hurricanes. In our country we rarely face hurricanes or tornadoes .We srr them just on TV .Thanks for this information

Hurricanes are more dangerous than tornadoes because hurricanes causes many damages than tornadoes even if both are strong winds.
