How does extreme weather effect us?

Extreme Weather Featured Image 6

I know some of you are probably shaking your fists and screaming at me for asking a question that pretty much everyone knows the answer to but hey, I might surprise you. If you didn't already know our current issue is about the weather and how we can prevent massive damage from natural disasters such as tornadoes and tsunami. So here are all of the possible things that the weather could effect.

  • They could inflict massive damage on buildings.
  • if earthquakes trip sewage lines it can cause to explode and deal more damage as well as bringing viruses from the sewers into cities
  • insurance takes money away from the government that they could be using on other things.
  • wildfires can cause countries that depend on harvests like some parts of Australia to go hungry.
  • it could negatively effect the worsening wildlife status.

so that is all of the things that could go wrong that I could possibly think of. Bye!

Your article has got me thinking! You said that "here are all of the possible things that the weather could effect" - do you think the weather effects different countries or different parts of the world in different ways? Are some countries more likely to have earthquakes and other countries more likely to have wildfires?

Yes, as different countries have different temperatures and environments meaning that some countries would be effected in different ways. For example places like Africa would have a greater risk of droughts due to their low rainfall and harsh sun, whereas countries like Greenland would be effected by earthquakes as cracks in the earth could be disguised by the snow.

Cracks in the earth wouldn't be disguised by the snow but obviously some countries are more affected by earthquakes than others.

Extreme weather events affects us in many ways such as economics and nation's development, profit and loss and so on.When it comes economics and nation's development, the money to be used for development progress will be spent on the issues and damages concerning the extreme weather event which can lead to poor economics which will end up in the fall of the nation.
When it comes to profit and loss, institutions and business companies use their money to repair damaged things, this can lead to loss of income due to poor amount of goods serviced.

.Sometimes weather is extreme causing destruction and death. In our country Kenya we are experiencing too much rain which cause flooding with this affect to us.
    1. Flood displacement of people eg in rift valley regions ,people left homeless and landslide in nyeri region also carried the properties of people leaving them without shelter and food.
    3. Health problem- to the people like water borne illness due to contaminate of water causing illness such as cholera.4. Economy empact due to flood it affect economy of our country especially in Rift valley have lead to loss of livestock . The Kenya economy is greatly dependent to each of the areas that get affected.
    5. Communication links and infrustrunctuan such as power. Plants, roads and bridges are damaged and disrupted like mugeni bridge in sotik bomet country is flooded and cause nine people death.
. Floods continue to wreak havoc in different parts of riftvalley causing deaths of rift valley causing deaths of people.
. My caution is to inform people to avoid areas which are experiencing flood distracter and advise those who are living within the affected areas to move to safer areas to avoid flood destruction and deaths it people.
. My question is .. Are the other counties experiencing the flood and what are the precautions they take?

Extreme weather is a bad weather which affects people, animals and plants. Every extreme weather is negative.
Drought is a bad effect of weather. It's when there is no rainfalls and the sun is shining hard so it affects the people. The sun has made the water to dry up, people to be thin and die, animals to die and plants too.
Floods in our country is getting worse. It is when the rain falls heavily and fills the dams, lakes, oceans and other drainage features. When there is floods, roads are destroyed, houses are filled with water other houses are swept away, animals too are swept away and people.
Heatwaves are like droughts. The sun shines hard but these extreme weather may even stay for some years.
    Hurricanes are like tornadoes.

Extreme weather events affect in the following ways,

    Positive effect:
Because of extreme weather events many tools that are use in detecting weather has been producedwhich has help us to increase our knowledge to make other things.if extreme weather did not occur,we wouldn't have obtained the knowledge to do other things.
It has help help plant to grow well and has increase the fertility of the soil.

    Negative effects

It has led to many floods when it rains heavily.
Because of the extreme weather, many students are not going to school again which may destroy their lives and who will be our future leaders to help the nation to stand?
It has killed those who are not really matured when the weather becomes too cold.

The impacts of climate change include warming temperatures, changes in precipitation, increases in the frequency or intensity of some extreme weather events, and rising sea levels. These impacts threaten our health by affecting the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the weather we experience.

When sea levels rise as rapidly as they have been, even a small increase can have devastating effects on coastal habitats farther inland, it can cause destructive erosion, wetland flooding, aquifer and agricultural soil contamination with salt, and lost habitat for fish, birds, and plants.
