Extreme weather speech

Extreme weather events are the unexpected, unusual, unseasonal weather on the extremes of historical distribution - the range that has been seen in the past. On June 3 , 2015, a massive flood occurred in the market center in the capital city of Ghana. After the disaster, 152 to lives were lost and total assets of hundred million dollars were brought down. https://en-m-wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Accra_floods.

In order to curb such disasters, all nations of the world must take part in investing in green energy technology, the use of natural, renewable energy, restoration of agricultural systems, afforestation etc. This is important because the world as we know is now a global village and each country's actions and inactions affect the other . There is the need for all countries to plan ahead to minimize the effects of disasters on its citizens and the world. A few of such ways are: educating the citizens, lowering carbon emissions, reduction in the use of fossil fuels among others.

Governments must help by implementing policies and funding organizations that help battle extreme weather change. For instance National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) which is responsible for the management of disasters as well as other emergencies in Ghana. I think this will work because the country can only change if the government changes it. Government should focus on preventative actions because that will save more lives. World leaders must help to support this by funding and contributing towards battling extreme weather change.

I would like the world to look more peaceful, cooperative and disaster-free so, I hereby suggest that countries take action now to better our world.

This is a powerful piece @precious_fox. I like your point about each country's actions affecting other countries. Do you have any examples of countries that are doing a good job of taking preventative actions, for example by using green technology or renewable energies?

Disasters are unable to stop but can be reduced because, some like natural disasters like tornadoes and others are part of nature which are part of creation. We can reduce them or protect ourselves.
