Extreme Weather on Another Level

The Positive Side Of Extreme Weather

Despite all the disaster that occurs during extreme weather such as people loosing their houses and family and economic problems, there is still some advantages of extreme weather.

When extreme weather strikes a country or region many casualties occur and everything is messed up. It is in that moment that the people in the region need help to survive and rebuild their homeland. It is the ultimate test that shows us our humanity and kindness. It is the time were nations, even if they are at conflict, stand side by side to help those who need help around the globe.

Extreme Weather also tests a region or nation's ability to cope with extreme weather. It shows them in which category they need improving to develop to ensure better reaction in the future and minimise casualties. Also the people on the region help each other even if they don't like each other, it is also likely for them to become friends after the disaster.

After extreme weather affects a region all newspapers publish articles on it, many charities are set up to help those people, many celebrities donate large amounts to help the ones in need, many activist host concerts and gathering toto encourage their government to help.

Extreme weather events help us to remeber that in the end of the day we are all human and that we can stand as one, despite our differences. Extreme weather unifies the globe.

Do you agree with me that there is a positive side for extreme weather? Have you ever donated or know someone who has donate to a charity to help people that have faced extreme weather? Think of more ideas and examples that show that support that there is a positive side for extreme weather.

Hi intelligent_power, I found it interesting how you said it is likely for people from different regions to become friends with each other after an extreme weather event. Can you think of an exmaple where this has happened ?

Looking from a historical perspective there is a positive side of extreme weather .
First plenty of snow and rain vital for agriculture which gives good produce
Drinking water is in adequate in many parts thus no lack of water.
    Also recreation activities takes place.
The positive side of it is UNITY among other neighbouring countries who come in big numbers to assist those who have faced challenges like loosing their homes and has caused destruction of properties .
The extreme weather has a positive side in changes of climate.
    Thanks for reading

My positive impact is that extreme weather makes the government to be alert of oncoming problems and save money.I am saying that because when the crisis happen the government will save money, get machines and other things to help the next time,so my point is it make the nation always prepared and ready for the disaster coming .

I enjoyed reading this for the different approach you have taken, rather than thinking about the negatives of extreme weather. Do you think that the positives / advantages of extreme weather vary depending on whether it is a wealthier or poorer country that has experienced the extreme weather? For example, could it be that a wealthier country such as the United States are able to set up concerts, charities and fundraising more easily following a hurricane or tornado, than a poorer country? Are there any international organisations you can find that help with disaster relief for those countries that might not have the resources to set these sorts of things up?

I agree with you because if a wealthier county got hit by a tornado then they could pay to repair the damage more easily than a poorer country. If you live in a wealthier country then you could set up a fundraising event where all the people in your town/city can meet up and play some games and have some fun, so you can raise money to help pay for the damage. Whereas, in a poorer country its not as simple as that because if your country is poorer, people are less likely to have lots of money to donate. But things can get better from here because citizens from wealthier countries can raise money so then they can give the money to poorer countries that need it because of extreme weather events.

I totally agree that there is a positive side to extreme weather conditions. During extreme weather conditions government is faced with all the amenities that are not in place, like ambulances, hospitals, beds, food banks and blood banks, emergency supplies. All these are made available in times of extreme weather conditions.

You are right that in times of extreme weather the government is a lot more active and helpful than usual. Do you think that governments should offer these amenities during normal times as well, and continue to assist those most in need?

The weather can be bad and also good. So, i strongly believe that it has a positive side.
    1. Vegetation: Temperature and rainfall are the major determinants of the type of vegetation in an area which could be light or thick.
    2. Agriculture: Rainfall and temperature are also important elements that determine the type of crops to be cultivated in an area.
    3. Occupation: The climate of a place do determine the occupation of the people in that particular region. Example people living in the equatorial type of climate are more likely to be involved in cash crop farming and lumbering of hardwood.
    4. Soil formation: soil is formed from parent rocks which have been broken by elements of weather and climate. The rate of disintegration of rocks to form soil is principally a factor of climate.
These are some of the positive side of extreme weather.

I totally agree with the fact that extreme weather has its positive effects but I also think that the negative effects of extreme weather events overshadow the positive effects. For example; though after extreme weather events some friendships might be formed, the formation of such friendships is at the expense of human lives and properties. I think that the positive aspects of extreme weather are negligible compared to the negative aspects.
