Australian Bush Fire Season

The australian bushfire season, also known as the black summer, began with several serious uncontrolled fires in June 2019. Throughout the summer, hundreds of fires burnt, mainly in the southeast of the country. The major fires, which peaked during December-January, have since been contained and/or extinguished.
I think that we should be doing more about climate change, because that is what is causing all of this to happen. There were 34 direct deaths, and 417 deaths from inhaling smoke. Isn't that awful? But I have not even got to the saddest bit yet. Guess what? 9,352 buildings were destroyed, along with 3,500 homes and 5,852 outbuildings! These numbers are outrageous. This wouldn't have happened in the first place, if humans hadn't came and destroyed so much wildlife and created this pollution that we call global warming! And, then, because of what we did loads of other humans' houses burned down, along with many animals' homes too. Does that seem fair? No. You know the reason why the earth is getting hotter? We humans are destroying the ozone layer in earth's atmosphere, and by doing this the earth has less protection from the sun, meaning we are killing things.
I hope you agree with me, please comment below and share your opinion on this matter. thanks for reading!

This has got me thinking! You say we should be doing more about climate change. Can you think of anything we could to do prevent bush fires? How can we help people who have been affected by them?
What i think can prevent bush fire is that we should not cut down trees because when they are cut down they cause global warming which can easily be attacked by a fire out break in the forest.
That's a good idea, I was thinking about that!

This is an interesting article and I would be interested to hear your responses to Mollie's questions! You said that a lot of people and buildings were affected. Could you also tell us where you got your information from?
I got it from wikipedia and google search.
Try to give specific links so we can check information for ourselves!

I think this is related to the heatwaves which is one of the consequences of global warming. If everyone of us act locally to reduce pollution, we can make a difference.
Can you please describe some ways we can act locally to reduce pollution?

Bush fires can be prevented in many ways.
Here in Ghana most of the bush fires are are mostly caused by the excessive heat by sun rays, this happens when the ozone layer is destroyed.I think when the ozone layer is protected this won't happen.
how do you think the ozone layer would be protected?

The ozone layer can be protected by stopping indiscriminate burning of bushes which release the green house gases and spoil the ozone layer as a result.
So when this indiscriminate burning of bushes is done to destroy the ozone layer, can it be treated back again to it's state?
I'm not sure
Okay, thank you for your understanding.

(I got part of this information from wikipedia and part of it from google search.)
The post is very interesting and sad. If you got your information there it is still very interesting.

determined_tree,you asked a question:We humans are destroying the ozone layer in earth's atmosphere, and by doing this the earth has less protection from the sun, meaning we are killing things.
For me it is not their fault because some people are illiterates they will not know that what they are doing is wrong so the government is ought to give a public enlightenment on humans negatively contributing in wildfire or other extreme weather events

I think we can all contribute to reduce pollution with simple actions like reducing the amount of things we use and just buy what we need, reduce the water we use., turn off the lights when we are not using them, use water in a sensible way. We can also reuse the things as much as possible. Water for washing can be reused for plants for example. We can also recycle things and there are so many creative ways we can do that. These are the thinks I can think of now , but I will look for other ideas and will ask my teachers and friends.
