Will going Vegan help

In BNC we were given a list of people saying what they were going to do about climate change, there were a few like: stopping flying, write a letter about it and send it to the government, join a campaign, however the one that caught my eye was going vegan.

On the one hand, feeding massive amounts of grain and water to farmed animals and then killing them and processing, transporting and storing their flesh is extremely energy-intensive. In addition to this cows create alot of methane giving of emmission into our atmosphere, people may argue that if you eat meat you will kill the meat to eat however if more people become vegan the produce of cows will decrease as less people we need and eat it.

On the other hand, a healthy diet includes meat, we don't have to become vegan, we just need to be wiser with our choices. Beef has 14X more warming effect than chicken so we just need to choose wiser in what we choose. In the past the only time people ate meat was for sunday lunch so we should look at this for a different alternative then becoming vegan.

There are other things you can do to prevent climate change though:

REUSABLE DRINK MUG

Take 2 minute showers

Don't waste

don't drive everywhere

In your post, you have made the assumption that a vegan or vegetarian diet isn't healthy. Is this true? What evidence do you have to support this?
