When did it start? And when will it end?

Climate change has always been around but when did it get serious?

Early in the 1800's the industrial revolution, factories began pumpin CO2 into th atmosphere. It is estimated that over 90,000 factories appeared during this time. But why? It didn't give us a happierr life and it afffected peoples health and lives.

Where does it end? Climate change has already happened there is no going back. Not only are we ruining our species we are ruing Earth and everything within. What we can do is: reduce the use of fossil fuels, stop rainforest destruction and get power from clean energy. Doing these things won't stop what has already happened like the storms, floods and natural disaters that are affecting the whole world. All we can do is correct our mistakes.

What is already happning? InLOndon alone waitrose have gone on a trile run so that food gets sold without plastic packaging. This is a neeccesary step that would make a big difference. The UK have banned plastic straws and cotton buds in the holidays. All these steps save lives but it's not enough.

Well done for following recent news stories about this Issue! Can you do some research and find some statistics about plastic damaging the environment? These will be useful to strengthen your argument.

    Thank you for your advice,
Approximately 4.8 and 12.7 million tonnes of plastic enter the ocean each year, this is an astounding figure. When plastic first enters the ocean it is big but it gets smaller and smaller until its invisible. It's these miniscule bits of plastic that harm the creatures in our sea. The damage we have have done is irreversible. Globally approximately 100 million marine animals die from plastic. If that doesn't pull your heartstrings then think about this; one day not that far away plastic will work its way up the food chain and into us humans. Infact there are recent news stories that state that plastic has actually been found in humans stools. We are in danger of killing ourselves.
