We were recently tasked with performing a speech in front of members of Faringdon's Peace Group. The group meets regularly and often discuss environmental and climate issues. They have ties to Extinction Rebellion and are a group of people who are geuinely concerned about the future of our planet.
We were two of several students afforded the opportunity to write and perform a speech to them. We were asked to speak about our opinion on conflict so we focused our speech on the Carbon Tax because we wanted to investigate how we could solve the problem of climate change, rather than just acknowledging that it is an issue.
While we didn't record the speech on the evening, we are very proud to present a second performance of it to the BNC.
Next month, we will attend the Peace Group fete, and have another opportunity to address climate change and raise awareness for the environment. Here, we will bake and sell organic, vegan and fair trade cakes, all of which will hopefully be decorated with BNC logos, and talk to and interview other, likeminded individuals. Keep an eye out for our reports.
