when can plastic items be used for a good course and bad course?

Featured Image – Building Back Greener 9

`plastic items and non-plastci are both good in both ways but many people might not undertsand the differences between them both so here I am to tell you.

Plastic is highly resistant to aggressive environments and to most chemicals. It does not corrode and is stainless. It has a long lifespan. It is hardwearing and easy to look after.

But what are the good courses for plastic?

Plastic packaging helps protect and preserve goods, while reducing weight in transportation, which saves fuel and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. From computers and cell phones to televisions and microwaves, durable, lightweight

Plastics are convenient.

Plastics are cheap.

Variety of different uses.

Hygienic packaging material.

Other packaging materials would increase product prices.

Products have long durability with plastic wrappings.

It is durable.

Plastics are lightweight.

But what are the bad affects of plastic items?

plastic in genral can be really bad as This often results in injury or death. Sea creatures are particularly at risk, and turtles are known to choke on plastic bags which they mistake for jellyfish. Fish eat microplastics. The fish then end up in seabirds' stomachs and on the plates of humans, and we all ingest the harmful toxins

Plastic affects human health. Toxic chemicals leach out of plastic and are found in the blood and tissue of nearly all of us. ...

Plastic spoils our groundwater. ...

Plastic attracts other pollutants. ...

Plastic threatens wildlife. ...

Plastic poisons our food chain. ...

Plastic costs billions to abate...

So which one do you agree with?

I think that we should be able to use plastic but not as much plastic as we used to use before I think that we should make some items classic and some items are there materials because plastic as I said can be very used for putting such as packaging and more things but other times plastic can be bad because kids can think its toys and people end up throughing them into the bin or chucking them somewhere were its not meant to be.

Hope you enjoyed my post

have a great day

Happy EID!!

Great post, decisive_redcurrant! I agree that we should be more careful about when and where we use plastics, and only use them where there are not more environmentally friendly options. What do you think are some of the reasons plastic is over-used? Why don't big companies use more alternative materials where they are available?

    Hi it's observant_sparrow
Plastic is practical: it is light, it resists different elements (water, heat, cold, etc.), it can take various forms (textiles, bottles, dishes, insulation, floor coverings, etc.). [1] Suddenly, it is used for many purposes.

Of course, plastic is not environmentally friendly. But if it were reserved for a few uses, it would not pose so many problems. The concern is that it is ubiquitous and often used for single-use items, which generate a lot of waste that is still quite poorly managed.

The production of plastic has multiplied by 20 since the 1960s. It is not surprising, plastic is used almost everywhere: packaging, kitchen utensils, various containers, dashboards, electrical and electronic equipment, decoration, furniture , toys, etc

I agree that plastic is useful and convenient as they are hygienic. They are especially helpful in the medical field because plastic is durable and lightweight. However, we should reduce it because the problem is serious.

As a student living in Hong Kong, I must say I am not happy with the waste that we produce everyday. Hong Kong is a place where 5.2 million plastic bottles are thrown away every single day. This problem is getting worse because of coronavirus as we have to use more plastic for food deliveries, sanitary gloves, tissues, and etc. So, I definitely think Hong Kong should provide more environmentally friendly options, such as opening more recycling facilities.

In a nutshell, the plastic problem is very serious not only in Hong Kong but worldwide. So I think we should take action quickly before it’s too late.

You say plastic is hygienic as well as durable and lightweight, particularly in the medical field. Can you think of any alternative materials which could be used in the medical field that are hygienic and eco friendly?

    hi ,
plastic has done good by protecting the environment through reducing waste thus lowering green house gas emissions and saving energy at home ,work and on the roads. however plastics also cause pollution that harms humans , animals and plants through toxic pollutants. and it can take hundreds and thousands of years for plastics to break down so the environment damage is long -lasting

i dissagree with your comment because i belive that plastic has been poluting the oceans for many years and i belive that it will carry on to polute the seas for many more centuries

i agree that plastics cause more harm that good by releasing toxins into the environment, polluting aquatic habitats and causing harm to various animals

Yes i agree with you because plastic is not able to decay meaning that the millions of pieces of it that are in the ocean will not decay so therefore they're permanently in the ocean and are waiting for ocean life to eat them.

I would like to share my opinion on your post as i believe differently. Plastic pollution causes harm to humans, animals and plants through toxic pollutants. It can take hundreds or even thousands of years for plastic to break down so the environmental damage is long-lasting. It affects all organisms in the food chain from tiny species like plankton through to whales.

i think that plastics have a negative effect on the environment because the incineration and production of plastic materials causes carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses to be produced which trap sunlight and caus eglobal warming.
