What are people doing to save the environment?

Hello! I am selfassured_journalist. This post is about what famous people are doing to save the environment. At the end, there are also a few tips for what people can do at home to protect the world.

Let's start with the government.

What is the government doing?

  • It's likely that you've heard about the government's plan to go Net Zero. This basically means that the government is working to balance the amount of greenhouse gasses emmitted.
  • If you're thinking,"Why isn't there a goal to go gross zero (to stop greenhouse gasses altogether?)" The government reason that this is not possible. We can't make greenhouse gasses extinct but we can always reduce the emmissions.
  • The government is also aiming to reduce the "dirty fuels" used. These include coal and oil. They say the UK should aim to use more renewable sources. A way to do ths is to install solar panels.

Let's move on to climate activists. Below are listed a few of the most well known activists and their plans.

1. Greta Thunberg

The young climate activist left school and started sitting outside the Swedish Parliament on Fridays as part of a climate strike. Since then, she has risen to greater opportunities, such as challenging many famous figures to take action on climate change. She does simple things such as not flying by aeroplane unless it's an emergency. This, she says, is a simple way to lessen her carbon footprint. Her young age, however, causes many sceptical people to ignore her messages.

2. David Attenbourough

David Attenbourough, aged 95, is best known for writing about the world. Once, he had a career in which he became "involved" with animals. His affection for creatures caused him to care about their habitats more than ever. His work earned him many titles and creatures were named after him, such as a dragonfly named Attenbourough's pintail.

Finally, let's look at World Leaders.

World leaders are:

  • Trying. The Paris Climate Agreement was signed in hope of saving the world. However, people doubt that just "signing the docs," will work.
  • Being challenged. Many protests have taken to the streets globally. Their aims are to convince leaders that they need to do more.

We're nearly done! Here are my top tips to save the world:

1. Do gardening

Planting trees and flowers remove carbon dioxide from our air

2. Try to change to electric or hybrid vehicles

These cause less pollution. Even better still, switch to walking wherever you can

3. Try getting your energy from solar panels or wind turbines

This reduces greenhouse gasses

Well done for drawing on examples to show how different people are responding to climate change, selfassured_journalist. I wonder who you and other students think has the most influence - governments, activists, world leaders or individuals?

Environmental problems have become more and more serious. To save the planet, each inhabitant must reduce their ecological footprint and participate in various environmental actions. Here are some examples of attitudes essential to protect nature.

    Protect our soil !!!
Several solutions are possible to protect nature, mainly the soil against pollution. Hazardous products and chemicals should not be thrown away (in the sewer, in the trash, in the sink ...). They should be taken to a hazardous waste collection center. Likewise, the use of chemicals must be limited: cleaning, pesticides and insecticides, fertilizers, etc. Awareness is reflected in everyday actions as well as in various activities which are becoming more and more environmentally friendly, such as printing. … Read more.

In addition, water your garden on a regular basis (weekly or every 15 days as needed). Preferably, opt for rainwater rather than drinking water to reduce the need for an exhaustible source. Protecting our soil is above all about protecting our food!

Become a green human being !!!
Having an ecological lifestyle is essential to contribute to the preservation of our environment. Each individual is therefore responsible for his actions. Instead, prefer organic or ecological items. Start by reducing your energy consumption at home. Prefer household and electronic appliances, light bulbs and other low-consumption equipment. Likewise, unplug or turn off once you no longer need to use them.

Plus, minimize the use of your vehicle to protect nature. Instead, opt for public transport for long-distance journeys, and cycling or walking for others. This way, you limit fuel costs, but also reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. And whenever possible, plan your trip to save time and money. In addition, when you change car, prefer less greedy models !!! Also, don't forget to join an environmental association or fund actions to save the planet.

Good day everyone, I think we can save the world by recycling instead of burning wastes.

i agree to this, but we can also use other methods such as walking instead of using transport, planting new plants and not using single use plastics

Recycling is a very good way of preventing pollution and littering. Can you think of any plastic items which could be turned into more environmentally friendly products chatty_beaver?

I also agree with jubilant dinosaur but they are many ways like planting of trees, recycling, also educating the people on afforestation and re afforestation and also the government can also help if they could create more laws about building back greener this could prove positively effective in the aim of reducing human emmissions and also helping nature
