Why I Believe in that we should stay in the EU

FeaturedImage_Brexit_5.jpg

This is why I believe that we should say no deal.

Now I may not know much about this madness, but I believe that we should stay in the EU because we are very happy as we are. Yes, we are getting quite a lot of immigrants. But we need to help them because we are sort of saying,“stay out of our country, we don’t care if you are homeless or not but we have already got a lot of people here.” Staying in the EU means that if there is a war or something going on, then they need a place to stay otherwise they will probably die in the war.

Also, it would be so much less of a hassle if we just stayed where we are and just lived like we have for ages. We could live comfortably without all this fuss about this massive change.

Please don’t hate me. I just want to put out my opinion about this big change in our lives.

I agree with you. Brexit has been going on for nearly 2 years. Everyone I know agrees that Brexit is useless. We have so many people migrating but if we don't let them in as we're bad as Trump building a wall on the Mexican border.

It seems to be just big nuisance in all of our lives that is really unnecessary and we would probably do better staying in the EU

I would like to agree you on terms of the topic 'immigrants'. I would like to agree with you because if we get lots of people from all around the world, it can come with its pros and cons. For example using my open minded skills, I would already know that there are more doors to unlock and different solutions from different perspectives. This suggests that we have lots more help and ideas from lots of different people who have different points of views ( who work here ). One of the cons are social housing.
If we already here in Britain have issues with homelessness, how are we going to cope with even more people coming here to live illegally. However, they can be counted as refugees and they may seek safety in lots of places easily and legally. If they were refugees in your point.
Sometimes, an immigrant can be a good or bad thing depending one what may decide.

This comment has a star for thinking about reasons on both sides of the argument here. I really like how you link immigration to making the country more open-minded! You also show that there is a big housing issue any people are concerned that immigration makes this worse.

One thing I'd like to correct is some definitions.

Immigration means people moving to countries they are not citizens of to settle legally.
Illegal immigration is when people do this without the correct permission from the country they are moving to.
A refugee is someone who has been forced to leave their country because of things like war.

loving_quince, I agree with you and we should stay in the EU. This is because, leaving the EU means we will lose the privilege to go and live, work and study across the EU. Furthermore, EU laws protecting the rights of workers and travelers across the UK. Also, we may or may not have access to low cost health care ( does this mean no NHS )? This one worries me a lot because recently, I saw a biography about children having to travel far away from their home just to get free medical treatment. They have to do this once a month, and they don't even get a suitable amount. Also, the EU has brought more than years of peace to a place scarred by centuries of wars. Being part of the EU also helps us protect our environment. This is important because we don't want to end up as an uninviting, filthy and dangerous place. Keeping with the nature theme, wildlife is far safer because of EU rules.

I agree with you that immigrants should be helped and allowed into the country, as they are in much need of help and support, and letting them into our country could potentially be saving their lives. Many people have complained about how they believe that immigrants and refugees are stealing jobs and homes, however, they are actualy benefitting our country. Many vital jobs such as doctors, nurses, and other jobs which require qualifications, have been taken by immigrants, where, if they had not taken the job, there would be nobody there to do it. Many immigrants fill up essential job vacancies which would not have been fulfilled by people from Britain due to the lack of qualifications. Therefore, they are benefitting our society immensely, and may even be saving the lives of people (in the case of doctors). As well as this, they take up many other jobs, such as caring for the less able, driving buses, trains and other forms of transport, building houses and other constructions, and other jobs which do not seem vital, but are the building blocks of our society. If these jobs were not taken immigrants and others, many necessary jobs that help to keep our communities intact would not be taken, and our societies would collapse.
Even though many argue that they are taking houses which could be used to accommodate the homeless, they are also helping to build them, and it is my opinion that if immigrants did not come to our country, then vital jobs would be left unfulfilled, causing much political and financial chaos, and even more people would become homeless.

      Hi beloved_chocolate,

Thanks for your comment, you make some solid arguments, especially around skilled jobs.

Some of the language you use when explaining the other side of the argument is quite emotive. For example, you say people might see immigrants as 'stealing jobs' and 'taking houses'. Can you find any points from the other side of the argument which you find valid?

I agree, Brexit shouldn’t happen. But now I’m thinking why is it? My reasons for my thoughts are a mix of price and people. Since a lot of food comes from Europe, -as said by others- so we wouldn’t be able to free trade. Free trade means we can trade food and items from different places, and because the EU is a group of countries (that we are currently part of) we can do this for free! If we leave, trading would be a lot harder, since it would cost money, and if it costs money, everyone’s bills will go up. Then the people. We would be a lot more under pressure with all of these bills and prices. We might need to find better jobs than the ones we have now. Speaking of jobs, schools wouldn’t have as many language teachers. But why is Brexit happening if so many people are disagreeing? Maybe because of the results. They were around 49% to 51%. Without even knowing about this, I knew votes like this aren’t fair. After discussing with people, they informed me that this was non binding. This means that the government wasn’t legally obligated to trigger Artical 50 - the part of the rules that says a country can leave. So the government made the EU leave by makeing artical 50 happen.

I disagree, because we can save much more money for the NHS, which means that adults can pay less of their taxes which will help much more.
