Revoking Article 50 Petition

Currently there are almost 5.6 million votes for not leaving the EU. The article 50 petition was a petition that was started by MP Margaret Georgiadou, which is now viral on the web.

An MP stated that if by the end of the 20th August 2019(the deadline), if the petition reaches 17 million votes, then something really has to be done about brexit. The reason why the number 17 million votes is so significant, is because 17 million people voted to leave the EU.

I think that the petition is a second chance to for those who want to stay in the EU.

Although many people are saying that the petition won't do anything, I think that if it reaches a very high amount of votes, something would be done about it.

Despite having 2 million votes at the time, Theresa May rejected the article 50 petition.

Some people don't trust petitions like this? Can you find reasons why?
