Is indirect democracy always what people want?

Is indirect democracy always good? This answer can only really be answered if you see both sides of the spectrum. On one side, you are voting for a person whom you most agree with. On the other hand, inside the parliament that person you voted might be a completely different person. But, is indirect democracy really good? Indirect democracy can have very good outcomes, like Canada, but it can also not have good outcomes, such as Botswana. A ban in hunting certain animals ruined peoples' crops. This is because certain animals mentioned in the ban were prone to eating their crops. This ban was decided by indirect democracy. Therefore I support indirect democracy.
