Did you know that the world has been changing from how it was a few years ago? If not, be prepared to learn about it now. Now that our world has gone warmer, ice caps are melting in Antarctica. Due to the ice caps melting, sea levels will rise and there might be floods in many places. This relates to greenhouse gases (Methane, nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide). The gases in the Earth help us survive. Climate change also refers to global warming which causes an increase in the temperature. However, global warming is caused by natural events and humans that are believed to take part in the average temperatures.
Causes of climate change and explanation
Climate change is a serious issue and is not a single issue but a number of environmental issues. Climate change is a rise in the surface temperatures of the earth that has changed various life forms. The issues that cause climate change are divided into two categories. Natural and human. The climate has continuously been changing for centuries. Climate change happens because the natural rotation of the sun that changes the intensity of sunlight is moving closer to Earth. Another cause of climate change is greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are made up of carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, methane, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide. It traps the solar heat rays and prevent it from escaping from the surface of the earth. This caused the temperatures of the earth to increase. Volcanic eruptions are another cause of climate change , for instance, a single volcanic eruption can release a big amount of carbon dioxide and ash to the atmosphere.
Once carbon dioxide increases, the temperature of the earth increases and greenhouse gases trap the solar radiationsbin the earth. Finally methane is another issue that caused climate change. Methane is more effective in trapping heat in the atmosphere that carbon dioxide by twenty times. Usually methane gas can release from many areas. For instance, it can be from cattle, landfill, natural gas, petroleum systems, coal mining, mobile explosions or industrial waste process.
How clumate change is made
Human influence has been a very serious issue now because humans do not take care of the Earth. Humans that cause climate change are creating more than natural causes of climate change. The earth has been changing for many years until now. It is still changing because of modern lifestyle humans.
It is understood that fossil steps create gradual heating of the earth which is known as climate change. Fossil fuels have been in our world for over millions of years. When fossil fuels are burned for energy, they can release the greenhouse gases which locks in the suns heat inside the atmosphere. As a result, the earth becomes hotter. Fossil fuels are not renewable so if you burn too much of them, you can’t yet it back.
Deforsetation is when the people cut down trees and clear up forests. If all the trees were cut down, there won’t be enough oxygen. People cut down EE’s to make many things such as paper. This leads to less oxygen for us. People need to reduce, reuse and recycle if they want to help not just themselves but other people too. The trees help save our lives by breathing in Co2 and breathe out oxygen. We breathe in oxygen and by cutting down trees, there might not be enough oxygen for us to breathe into. Trees absorb co2 by using the chlorophyll inside their leaves. Which is a small cell that is responsible for taking in the co2. As a result the leaves look green. Furthermore the leaves turn brown and fall of trees which means it’s dying slowly.
Covering about 70% of the earths surface is the ocean. The ocean influences weather to local and global scales while changes in many climate. Did you know three independent analysis show that the amount of heat stored in the ocean has increased substantially since the 1950s? Ocean heat content not only determines sea surface temperatures but also effects sea levels and current. It is known that extra carbon dioxide in the atmosphere gets absorbed by oceans making them more acidic. Also making it harmful for sea creatures. This process is known as ocean acidification. It makes it difficult for microorganisms to live. Consequently disrupting the food supply for other sea animals. It is true to say that sea levels will rise. Also the sea has become higher from 8 inches because of melting glaciers and ice sheets.
The impact of climate change includes warming temperature, changes in percipitation and increases in the frequ or intensity of some extreme weather events and rising sea levels. These impacts threaten our health by affecting the food we eat, the water we sting, the air we breathe and the weather we experience. The severity of these health risks will depend on the ability of public health and safety systems to address or prepare for these life changing threats, as well as factors such as an individuals behaviou, age, gender and economic status. Certain populations children, pregnant women, older adults and people with low incomes face more risks.
