All important decisions should be decided by direct democracy?
I support this motion because everyone should get their say and their opinion. It is important that everyone gets their say because their reason could change everything about the vote. Direct democracy is a form of government where everyone gets their say such as voting if we are leaving the EU ( which is not happening anymore) or when America voted for a new prime minister ( Donald Trump).
Indirect democracy is when only MPs ( Member of Parliament) vote. The only problem with indirect democracy is that not everyone is included and not everyone gets to vote as it is them who would be leaving the EU for example. My view is that important decisions ( which impacts on our society) should be debated by everyone and understood that the vote that has won is staying that way.
But people wouldn’t support this motion because voting with everyone having their say could cause arguments between people for example, whether we were leaving the EU or not. Arguments could only get caused by if people didn’t get their way or if someone else didn’t choose the same as them.
Personally I agree with this motion because everyone feels like they can say what they want about why they chose that vote and that
nobody can stop them from what they are voting. I don’t think it is right for the MPs to vote and only them for example when we were voting to leave the EU, ( European union) it wasn’t just them who was leaving or not leaving the EU it is also everyone else who is in our country .
