American Election - Final Piece

Name: Violet brown

Age: 19

Occupation: actress

What matters to you in the upcoming election? Climate change, education and the wall

How many electoral votes is your state worth? 29

How does your state usually vote? Swing state

Who do you plan to vote for? Joe Biden

Could you be president yourself one day? Yes

Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

Hello, my name is Violet Brown and I am 19 years old and currently living in Florida with my younger sister Malina Brown. My state is usually a swing state which means either democratic or republican. Since I am only 19 I am still studying in a college called The Florida International College as an actress. Even though I am quite an advanced actress it is still essential that I study my career so I will do very well in the future. The two things that most worry me in the upcoming election are climate change and education. What worries me about climate change is that it keeps getting worse and worse until the human species will not be able to survive it. My worry about education is that if it doesn't get better it could and is a big worry to parents. For me I am worried about the future education of me, my sister, younger family members, the future of my future kids and other people.

My worry about the wall is that if people from America have family or friends who are currently living in Mexico it will be much harder for people who live in America to get to Mexico or people from Mexico to get America.

I am a Biden supporter as if he is elected most of my worries might be solved (if he does what he is planning to do), on the other hand Donald Trump will make my worries worse since he either has no policy or wants to do the opposite.

How do you feel about tomorrow's election?

I feel very nervous because I really want Biden to win as he will help my country and make it a better place to live in for everyone that already lives here in America and others who will come in the future.

Why should people vote tomorrow?

People should vote tomorrow because your vote counts and even if your vote is only worth 3 electoral votes don't feel like your voice isn't being heard equally because it really is and not only is your vote making a difference it is changing the decision and the lives of many people so vote and vote Biden.

How powerful do you think your vote is?

I think my vote is very powerful because I believe that everybody's votes are equal and as powerful as mine and I do think my one tiny vote could make a difference to my country and my state.

Can you explain why some people might not vote?

Some people might not vote because they might be citizens and not Americans, under 18, don't know how voting works in America, not interested, don't like either politicians, think that the politicians don't deserve their vote ,sick and many other reasons.

How do you feel about the voting system in America?

I feel that the voting system here in America is very complicated. I also find it unfair that in different states electoral votes are worth more or less than other states because it makes some people feel left out or less heard.

What about presidency, would you ever run for president?

I wouldn't run for president because I don't study to be president in the future, I don’t think being an actress will help me be a good president and I don't have a degree in law which will be very important if I want to be president. The biggest reason is that I can't or won't be president in future that if I don't know many things about being president and if I try to get elected and I win I don't know many things about being president so I might not make my country a better place as I probably will not know how change things that can be improved and to me if you run for president it is because you want to improve your country and make it a better place.

An excellent Final Piece! Your character seems concerned about a lot of things -do you think they are now more hopeful, now that Joe Biden has won?
