Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Hi! My name is Peregrine Smith and I am 35. My current occupation is working as a saleman for Chevrolet cars. I live in North Carolina with my wife and cat. I would like to participate in the 2020 election voting for Republican Donald Trump. I’m not poor but I’m not rich so I would like Donald Trump to lower the tax prices.
How do you feel about tomorrow's election?
I feel excited about tomorrow but at the same time worried because I don’t really feel like my vote counts because of my state’s poor electoral votes of only 16.
Why should people vote tomorrow?
I think people should vote tomorrow because it is like they don’t care if they don’t vote and if they don’t do it they might even get the president they don’t want! Voting is very important but some people don’t realise it anymore.
How powerful do you think your vote is?
I think my electoral votes are not the highest but at least over 10. My electoral vote number is 16 so I am not that fussed, however it could be more.
Can you explain why some people might not vote?
Some people don’t vote because of age, or they are not interested or they can’t access the polling station. It is really important to vote but some people can’t do it. You are also not allowed to vote if you are under the age of eighteen. This is because you may not understand so you could be forced to vote for a particular candidate.
What about the presidency, would you ever run for president and why?
I could become president one day because I am 35 so yes I could but it would be very stressful because imagine the biggest superpower in the world over your shoulders and I have only lived in America for 10 years although I was born here. But I could maybe be the next president of USA if I live here for another 4 years.
How do you feel about the voting system in America?
In my opinion the voting system in America is fair because if you look at the voting system in Britain it can be one democratic party every election but in America it can be Republican, Democrat, Republican, Democrat. I think it is quite fair. At first, I thought it was very confusing but if you get to know it is easy.
