It was a very powerful thing to be a part of the first African-American administration in the US. I thought about it everyday when I walked into the White House…it really kind of made you believe that anything in the United States was possible.

    eager_reflection here,
I'm going to answer the questions mentioned above
1.Out of everything Reggie said, what has inspired you the most?
The thing that has inspired me the most is when Reggie said that being in the first African-American administration in the US made you believe that anything in the United States was possible. This is because in history, people may not have believed that there could be an African-American administration, but it came true. This inspires me to be anything I want to be, because there's always the slightest chance that I might get it.
What did you learn from Reggie's answers that you didn't know before?
I learnt from answer 1 that you have to have to have confidence in yourself to achieve what you want, which is what Reggie did when he saw the opportunity to become President Obama's assistant and personal aide. I learnt from answer 2 that it was a very brave and bold move to become the first African-American president's personal aide. If I did that, I would feel very proud because it is an enormous achievement. I also learnt that even with the pressure of doing this, you can still hold onto moments that you love. I learnt from answer 3 that if you have power, you have to be careful with what you do because your actions can change people's opinions a lot. I learnt from answer 4 that to be president you have to possess many different traits, and that when the president is not working they still have fun with their family, just like any of us. I learnt from answer 5 that you should always think about how you are going to achieve something, and be prepared.

Reggie's answers connect to the election race because you have to prepare for various things such as debates, rallies, campaigns etc. You also have to be careful with what you say, if you are a candidate, as it could change people's opinion. This ties in with fake news as well. You have to be especially careful on social media, as posts may not be true. Thank you for reading my comment,

    1) It inspired me when Reggie touched on the fact that being apart of the first African-American administration made him think everyday that anything was possible. This was especially because as I am part of a minority too (Asian), it makes me feel proud more people of colour are representing high roles and impacting society. Furthermore, it shows me how far we've come as a society that we are accepting of all people, regardless of their background or ethnicity. Growing up, I have never really felt minorities were getting the recognition they deserved, as opposed to non people of colour. Seeing people like Obama and Reggie having large power on how the country was run makes me want to achieve my aspirations too!

    2) What surprised me most from Reggie's answers was the lack of access to healthcare for Americans. It makes me reflect on how privileged we are and how grateful we should be that in the UK, we have the NHS. As we are all used to free healthcare, it's hard to imagine life without it: imagine the stress of the bills for your medicine and appointments - the uncertainty of knowing how much you'll have to pay? I think that access to healthcare is a basic necessity and finding out not all Americans can access it due to financial issues saddens me, due to the fact that some might not get the proper help/medical attention they need if they are struggling with money.

    3) Reggie's answers to the characteristics of Barack Obama connect to the 2020 election race, because it gives us an idea of how a good president should act and present themselves. This shows us the difference between the current president, Donald Trump, and Obama because one is a person whom most people have strong negative opinions on, whilst one was adored and argued to be one of the best presidents of the United States. This shows me that people vote for the person that shows compassion for others and recognising the duty it takes to run the country.

After watching these videos, I was touched by the fact that President Obama thought that anything was possible. It's inspiring what he did. He must have felt overjoyed when he found that he had become the first black president in American history. I myself am white, but I feel like any black people should be treated the same way that I am. The colour of our skin shouldn't matter, and President Obama proved this.

I realised that President Barack Obama was more inspiring than I had realised, hearing it from a man who had worked with him for 8 years. This just shows that Obama was one of the most inspirational, empowering and significant presidents in history, as he was the first black president, and he worked very well with his wife, putting out an image of him being the most empowering president ever.

Reggie really inspired me because he was Barack Obama's(a trail blazer) former personal aide for 8 years, which meant he had a view of what was happening but not from the president's eyes, and that helped give the bigger picture. He felt that 'anything could happen' because he could change the world by advising Mr Obama, to help future generations as it has a worldwide impact on people of different colour religion or anything that had been discriminated by the past.

Watching the videos, it was astonishing and he made it clear that Reggie supported Obama's campaign. He thought that that black people didn't matter to the majority of the country but when he stood behind Obama he felt empowered. He could get black people to thrive and not be shunned by the rest of the country. I didn't believe that there was 1 black senator before him. Also, even though his mother died Reggie kept going and didn't stop and helped Obama become one of the greatest presidents.

    1)
The thing that inspired me the most was that obama was a father figure, it just shows the happy side of everything, and the non-politics side of president. Its just heart-warming to see that its not just a big mess and his oath was reality as he tried his best, even with his mother dying, he still goes on and fights through the bad thoughts.

    2)
Out of everything I didn't even know that you had to do a oath, its like a unbreakable vow, but without dying and magic. You swear that you will do something like swear you alliegance and its quite interesting that they have to swear that they will follow orders and follow the oath

    3)
It connects to the next race as they will have to do the exact same and they will have to find the assistant, do the oath, and the new person will have to follow in the steps of Reggie Love, now im excited to see who it will be this time and hope that they will be good at it and they wont fail and be like Reggie Love.

Thank you Reggie Love as you spoke i could see how impactive working with Barack Obama for eight years as his former adviser has been for you and the world as i feel inspired as you were working for such a powerful move (racism) on gender race culture, religion and fairness for the world as you would feel so tiny against all the powerful white people until Barack Obama came along .

Thank you Reggie Love, you have inspired us all and would have a universal impact on the African American residents. I totally agree that president Obama has made America a better place and should replace Donald Trump. Also make the rights he was making in 2009-2017,everyone could have a place in America no matter what gender, race, culture and religion.

Reggie Love, the vice-president to Barack Obama, made me feel as if the world -which isn't perfect- could be accepting to all. This speech was very inspiring, as it represented the fact that the world isn't perfect, but still would lift you higher if you would work hard enough to get there.

He was passionate about improving the world he lived in, and saw how the world wasn't very nice for everyone, specifically people of different colours, races, genders, religions, communities and cultures. He also spoke about how, before Obama, he had never seen black people in registration, and this opened my eyes to the racism in our everyday world. It's a scary situation for some, but gradually, gradually it's improving.

    1)
I think the thing that has inspired me about is that Barack Obama is a husband and a father. I think that this inspiring because he needs to put a lot of effort in his family to take care of them, but he still has a powerful role to play in America's history. It is also nice that he can take care of not only his family but America, even othere.

    2)
I learned that Obama is more than a president... he is a absolute roleplay! He has so many stuff and documents to file and he has to keep track of important things.
    3)
Reggie Love's answers connects to the election as he mentions about the power the president needs and how they have to be mature. I very eager to see who wins and whoever it is, they just need to be good and make America great.
